Don't change things on account of me Kev, its all good . There are plenty of good pubs in and around town that have live music etc and are free to get in to. But as I said anything goes, just $100.00 that close to the trip would kill me, lol. (or Mrs Ray would)

Can easily do the Eatons Hill one night, somewhere else another night etc.

mate Queensland and it's noble inhabitants have not as yet come to grps with the concept of money per se, major crops produced in Queensland include bananas, cotton and citrus crops, you can use these as simple barter items, though they may struggle with bales of cotton, I find they respond well to banana's which they somewhat annoyingly proceed to bend

It's not a direct flight.. I make a quick (1hr) stop in Auckland, then hop over to the Gold Coast.

United is the preferred airline of the company I work for.  I racked up a lot of miles traveling around the country last year so it made sense to stick with an airline I could get the miles on.  Air NZ was the only airline who is also part of the Star Alliance.  Not going to pass up about 17k miles on top of what I have already. A free international round trip ticket is not far off...

Would have stuck with United for the long haul flights, but they have yet to update their 747's with personal on-demand video and power in the seats for those of us who can only afford coach.  Those who can afford Business or First class have it..  Looking at the flight loads on United it was scary how empty the planes were.  Rows upon rows of empty seats.  Maybe 10% of the seats sold so far..

I can't sleep on planes..so the more inflight perks, the better for me..

   Feeling a bit sick in the guts at the moment. Recieved a phone call at work late today from my Melbourne based manager saying he wanted to invite me to some top level training on some of our existing products, people are coming from Germany to be a part of this etc. Great, no probs, except it is for the whole week starting 3rd March. 3 days in Melbourne and then Thursday-Fri in Sydney. The dates can't be changed and he wants me there for the whole week. So at this stage I would say I'll be missing (under extreme duress) the Jindabyne trip.

I have to ring him tomorrow morn as he said we might be able to work something out. I'll be working on the angle of cramming the 5 days training into Mon/Tues/Wed so I can still leave on Thursday for the ride down as planned from Brisbane. Or if I definatley have to be in Sydney on Thursday, I'll skip Fridays training and ride from Sydney to Jindabyne ( around 6 hours travel?). This would mean riding the bike down to Sydney the weekend before training, leaving the bike somewhere, catching a plane to Melbourne for the start of training, fly back to Sydney on the Wednesday for Thursday training, and go on Friday. Mmmm, don't know if that would work, although seeing as I'm nearly to Jindy it might work out better.

I think I'll suggest to him I can attend Mon-Wed only and see how he feels.

If he knocks me back on all of my offers I'm screwed mightily. But, I'll know more after tomorrow.
