Thanks Arnie. The Google maps planner is much better the whereis, it actually gives you suggested options to compare, nice. Actually the Newell Highway option, (1430kms, 15.5 hours) looks to be the best, (staying away from Sydney/Pacific highway)
As a side not, was there any mention of 30th Anniversary Rally shirts being done? I might have missed it.
Here`s the go. Anniversary Rally Embroidered Polo Shirt has your LH chest as before but with Blue FJ. Your Forum Name ($6.60) and Real name (extra $6.60) is on your RH Chest. (Nothing on RH Sleeve) On LH Sleeve is a red FJ with Australian Anniversary Rally 2014
Total Cost for this proven Quality Collectors item is $63.52 incl GST for all the above incl 2 names. (Same price as 2012)

The great news for those with original shirts (I`ve seen them at 2 Rallys now and they still look great due to excellent quality) is East Coast Embroidery www.ecembroidery.com.au/‎ will put the 2014 Anniversary Rally Emblem with ambulance FJ on the LH sleeve for $10.95 (If you can get them to me)....But better still they will email the design to the embroiderer of your choice in any country or state for free with no strings attached.

Please Note all previous emails to me expressing interest may have been wiped out by bummer computor.

But you must give me the size by forum PM having gone to the following to get it right:-
http://www.stencil.net.au/products/polos/the-active-polo/1031-mens-short-sleeved/91 and for ladies http://www.stencil.net.au/products/polos/the-active-polo/1032-ladies-short-sleeved. Will be ordered as White Royal Blue.
(Very Close to Yamaha Colours)

I`ll put ya bill on my credit card and you can settle at the Rally.

They naturally don`t want the hassle of putting the orders together so just PM them to me with Rally shirts as the subject.

Ray,
Sounds like a plan. I would like to leave early thurs morning and stop for breakfast at the first fuel stop. 1000 km should be doable on day 1.  Head back on Sunday arvo as long as I am back for work on Wednesday. Not fussed which route . The Newell sounds good, I havent been that way for years

Exactly 4 weeks today, I will be boarding a plane for the other side of the world...and although the rally is only a weekend gig, I will be around for a while....looking to expand my horizons and meet new friends. I am counting the minutes til take off and know I will be in for the time of my life....so Lets get it up !!! :music:

FJ rally sounds great, unfortunately been have been out of touch with the forum until recently. ( thanks Doug for the heads up) FJs been sitting for awhile sort of forgotten about. Not certain if I can make it. FJ not running to well still. Haven't sorted the carbs yet ......still.......Thought about driving it. (Cheats way out). Not decided yet. If I got it running I'm not certain how I'd go for that length of distance first time.

Hey Randy , is it a better exchange rate here as opposed to over there?

I exchanged without any fees and the US dollar is on the plus right now.

Bones

I think at the moment the exchange rate is 1.00 US dollar = 1.14 Australian dollars.

Too young to be old but old enough to know better.

Arnie

The "official" exchange rate was A$1.00 = US$0.874 this morning.

You'll never get that rate for small cash conversions, but it should give you a base to see how much they (banks or other currency converters) are charging you.  The range has been between 87 to 88 cents for the last couple of weeks.

Just FYI, note that the length of the note increases with the denomination.
This might help you when you're "blind". :-)

See ya.

Sorry, got my exchange backwards, the rate for the US dollar means you get more AUS dollars. I exchanged last week and $1000.00 got me 1060.00 AUS.

You should check your Canadian rate and if your back charges fees to exchange. If they don't, do it before you leave as exchanging over there will have fees.
