Funny you should mention being a little "closer".

I`m not sure how many ladies are attending the Anniversary dinner just cause of the lure of our superb Venue, but I do know there`s more than half a dozen, and I`ve been asked discreetly for some suggestions regarding romantic interludes en route - Not that I`m any pioneer on this genre, but I am aware of some Hot mud baths out West and Flips could probly help us out further here. (from what we`ve seen of his South Coast sojourn).

ummmm....  don`t think I`ll ask Klav for any suggestions, but I have witnessed Rover tripping the night fantastic (The quiet ones seem to be more up on these matters!).... I bet Bozo`s got something up his sleeve? ...does anyone wish to divulge their romantic ideas for the feminine of our species??
...Arnie? Ribbert? Springy? Jonesy?Roach? Dayta? Nona? Pete? David? Come on Ken? Stu? Ymarran? What`s Baldy up to? Any recommended B & B`s? (Not that the rest of us would gate crash your discreet party or anything!)  :diablo:  Heeehee !
I once took Dena to the drive in movies on my 1964 Honda 250 scrambler...I wore me best aftershave too!...top that!    (popcorn)

Damn, there goes my idea of asking Klav for suggestions, I just keep her wallet filled re:romantic interlude. Yes she is coming to the rally, and yes I will deny (regret) writing this
First major bike in my life was a Mach III widow maker.
My Second permanent bike 1978 Z1R (owned since Dec 1977)
My Third permanent bike is the 89 FJ12 - nice and fast
Forth bike 89 FJ12 my totally standard workhorse
81 GPZ1100 hybrid - what a bike, built to sell but I can't part with it

No one wants to ask Klav.....???  :scratch_one-s_head: I wonder if it's because he likes Pine cones and crotch rockets.... :mocking:

:good2: Fantastic! You guys sound pretty organised. No doubt you have explored our culture under "Downunder Topics" but should you require Anniversary Shirts the info is the same as 2013 only "2014 Anniversary Rally" extra embroidery on RH sleeve: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=7952.15 (I`ve been a bit slack and will compile some orders next week for those that have sent me all their size details.)
Also I got some extra news & pics when I ducked in at Jindabyne`s Banjo Patterson resort recently; (Narratives 3 & 4 ) : http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=10617.0

Any pics of your FJ?....we like pics!  Are you sure the FJ is not an 84 Anniversary model? Will you have cameras mounted? (Our resident Spielberg can`t attend unfortunately.)  :drinks:

Caroline lived in Australia for four years so she's pretty well up on Aussie culture!

Shirts - yes, for me certainly. XL or XXL depending usually. Medium in America :)

Will have a Drift camera mounted by then.

Leaving wet, cold UK on Monday  :yahoo:

Whoops!...that was only suppose to remind you (David) to register your global home on Zeemaps: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=10618.0

Hate this tiny laptop.

I`ve had a major blow up on my home computor (lost everything ) Including a personal FJ rally file. Not a big prob but anyone wanting Anniversary Rally shirts will have to resubmit their requests via PM.

Figured I should post this for everyone who is traveling to Australia.

Australia VISA/ETA Information

For ANYONE traveling to Australia you MUST complete your VISA/Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) application before going to your airport.  You will not be allowed to even board the plane without it.  Go to:  https://www.eta.immi.gov.au/ETA/etas.jsp

Fill out the form and print out the conformation page for each application.  This is to cover your butt.  When I arrived at the airport for my first trip to Australia the Airline had no record of me applying for or being approved for the VISA.  I handed them the approval page from the Australian Govt. site and they were able to find it in the system.

With taking a trip like this, I wouldn't want anyone to hit snags that might jeopardize their plans.  It would really suck to be told at check in "Sorry you don't have your Australia ETA, so we can't check you in".  I would imagine they could do it at the airport, but why risk it?  :)

Thanks Garth, that is news to me...

We are just awaiting our passports then we can get this completed as well.

I guess Australia is just like Disneyland, you have to pay to get in.

I had a hunch people didn't know about it.. Can see some people going to the airport without it and then asking "WTF??"...

Yes.  It applies to Canada as well..

Taken from the website:

To apply for an ETA online through this website, you must hold a passport from one of the following countries:

    Brunei - Darussalam
    Canada
    Hong Kong
    Japan
    Malaysia
    Singapore
    Korea, Rep of (South)
    United States

If you do not hold a passport from any of the above countries, you cannot apply for an ETA online. You may be eligible to apply for an ETA through a travel agent, airline or an Australian visa office. Alternatively, you may be eligible to apply for other types of electronic visitor visas. See: www.immi.gov.au
