RPM is on foreign soil as of Wednesday. Took the day to get over jetlag to head out to the track today. Couldn't help getting roped into working almost as soon as I arrived.

This is Peter Carr's car who won today's race and will lead them at the start of the field tomorrow.

Off to Brisbane on Sunday.

If anyone is in the Adelaide area let me know.

Great to hear you`re enjoying your visit. Really keen to watch the Aussie cars on the Telly this weekend. Here`s the Practise results and next race times: https://www.clipsal500.com.au/the_race/raceday_program/348/aussie_racing_cars_series
I see he improved to first position since your post with a best lap improvement of 0.6822 seconds and only .19 seconds to next rival...That`s close racing. More entertaining to watch on Telly than the V8`s (imho)...will be watching with great interest.  :drinks:

I think my posts are still coming through on my home time, I posted that last night about 10pm Adelaide time. Peter qualified 2nd but was able to pass the pole car and lead the complete race.

I also wrenched on the title sponsored, Clipsal car as well as several others. Everyone was grateful for the assistance and word traveled quickly through the paddock of who I was and what I can offer and do.

Going to see some other local venues before heading back today as the race is not until late in the afternoon.

Hopefully there will be a RPM shirt on a driver during the victory lane interviews.

Umm.. dunno about packing cans or bottles of beer and/or other carbonated beverages into a checked bag.  I have a request for some Vodka.

You can place liquids into your checked bag, then declare them with customs.  You can bring 2.2 liters into Australia, duty free.

I have to buy the Vodka here and place it in my checked bag.  Duty Free in LAX is not an option for me since I'm transiting though Auckland and have to go though security before entering the international departures terminal.  No time to get anything in Auckland since my layover is only an hour.

In the past I have bought duty free at the airport (in another country) and placed it into my checked bag after clearing customs here in the U.S. then hand the bag over to the airline for the final flight home.

Your bag will be abused during the trip.  Smashed, crushed, etc.. make sure there is enough padding to keep the cans from being crushed and exploding in your bag.. would really suck to have stale beer soaked clothes..

Who's checking their helmet vs. carrying it with you?  I'm carrying mine as my one "personal" item.  Laptop bag will be the one piece of cabin baggage I'm allowed.

Bean,

If you are going to take Vodka over, you wouldn't happening to be bringing any "Bundaberg Royal Liqueur Rum" back. That good stuff Baldy had at the WCRally.  :good2:  If you have room in your luggage I would love to have a bottle, just tell me how much & your paypal account and the $$$ is on its way!!!

It's been 5 years to the month since I was last here..

Warm weather feels nice.. coming from cold, cloudy Porkland.

Mike:  I believe the limit I can bring is 1 liter.. the bottles are 750ml.. so just depends on how much I want to tempt fate...  I ended up having to purchase the Vodka at the Gold Coast airport just before hitting immigration.

Long travel day, but nice to finally be here.

Yep, he was passed for a short time, but he again prevailed victorious. Saturday's race has a top 10 field invert so he will start 10th. He is confident to get back to the front again through the field, it should be exciting.

Here he is today after victory
