:hi: Nope, with my brother and a group of Can-Am friends. We get together a couple of times a year to ride, eat, drink, tell tall tales, drink some more and do the same thing the next day/night hahahahahaha...

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Come on guys..... Rally's are not easy to organize :flag_of_truce:.....but they are not that hard either if everyone participates (popcorn). It only takes a minute to post a response :bye:. All of you have expressed your desire for our own Ontario Rally :drinks: but it is not going to happen by itself :empathy2:. Out of the 30 Pm's I sent out...all of you said you were very interested but out only a couple have posted any sort of response.
I went on my first rally last summer to the 2012 NESR and I didn't know anyone and hadn't met a soul so I was very intimidated :shok:. But you would be amazed how easy it is to have a great time when everyone has the same primary focus...."to ride their FJ's" :good:. The other Rallys seem effortless and appear to happen all on there own....some individuals even travel across the globe just to be there....but I guarantee the first one was the toughest !! If we are going to have an Ontario Rally..you can't have one without having the first one  :good2:.

Let me break it down

1. Which month ?
2. What location ?
3. Jack and Jill event...or just Jack?
4. Venue.... camping, motel, or resort
5. Duration....1,2,3 OR 4 event

These are 5 simple questions that take 5 minutes to write a post  :mail1:

Are we going to have our own Rally ? It's up to you. I would love one....but it's not going to happen if 3 or 4 guys are the only ones trying to get the train out of the station.
Any and everyone who wants to participate has to get involved !!!!!!  This will be my last attempt to launch this event this year  :dash1:

How about full day ride Sunday, June 2 around Calabogie?  I've done it before with some Boone buddies (wow, in 2004; where did the time go?) .
A month is enough time to set time aside... personally, my schedule is a bit too full to do more than one multi-day rally, and I do want to make it to Maine this year.

It's a four or five hour ride from Whitby.  With a return trip, riding in the area, breaks, etc., it makes for a solid 12 to 14 hour day.  Start early, ride all day, come home with a big-ass grin.  Or, if that's too much, you can ride up Saturday, camp / motel, ride around Sunday with whoever shows up, and then go home.

Right on Bob..... I love the thought of running Calabogie....I was sure that's where everyone wanted to go for a weekend last fall. I guess people just get too busy...but ya I would definitely be down for that......I was hoping to at least do a weekend thing in Calabogie...but that looks to be a bit too much to ask from everyone at this point.....I will have to see if I will have CanD back by June 2nd....she is still in the shop have the engine ported and polished...I took her in in February thinking she would be home by now...but it's not happening.....I will let you know when I will be ready to ride......thx Bob for posting....can't wait to get back in the saddle

Well how about this scenario;
- Calabogie
- June 22nd weekend, after fathers day
- 2 nights, check in  friday, ride saturday, return home sunday
- cabin rental or tent
- jack with jill option

Sorry for the delay, new schedule at work, spring clean up, boat repairs and motorcycle rides keeping me busy.

Just a side note, Lake Temagami is amazing camping, fishing but the highway 11 north is a long staight 2 laner, not very exciting to ride.

I wish I could remember names... I do know the picture was taken by Pierre from Ottawa (fjrpierre). He was on the FJR. I'm the one in blue.  On the left I think that's Frank from Ottawa (you'd think I'd remember his name; we rode down to Boone together in 2003). He used to ride an '83 or '84 FJ.  Can't remember the guy in red. Sorry.

From Boone, 2003...

I'm anticipating I'll still be rebuilding my situation but for sure I will mark down an overnight for Calabogie late September. Just have to target for it.
The nice thing is the trip to Calabogie from just about anywhere can be interesting if you stay off Hwy. 11 and any of the 400 series unless absolutely necessary.

If the 'one big blast a year' rally is not in the cards as an annual event for Ontario FJ's, maybe we need to tailor our ambitions to the circumstancs and possibly go with a less ambitious series of available dates to do day rides. Spread the locations across Ontario depending on who wants to be "host" (using that term very loosely) so anyone has a shot at meeting for at least one or possibly more dates and meet more fellow FJ riders.
If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.

It's official..... I will be calling the Sands on Golden Lake Monday and reserving a Chalet. Once I have done so, I will post the Rally....(Marsh will post the Rally) and we will have our first Ontario Rally. Once I have reserved the Chalet, anyone who is interested in attending can correspond with other members and make your own lodging arrangements. I want to take this moment to express my remorse for the recent animosity between myself and some other members. I am not perfect...and I am the first one to admit I am wrong.....I really wanted to see one big group of Ontario members come together and have fun......I'm not not just talking shit...I have opened my home and my heart twice last year with the "Ontario BBQ's" to make that a reality.....I don't know where things went wrong. Maybe in time...we can rise above the proverbial garbage heep and get back to the only reason why I joined this site...."to meet new people.....and make new friends". If my enthusiasm...or my over zealous nature have gotten the best of me..... I ask everyone of you to forgive me..and give me a chance to exhonerate my heart and my hopes for this group. Life is way too short for this nonsense !
Sincerely
CanDman

Tiger........John.....I am truly truly sorry for the things that I said and posted on this site concerning you. I have always had the highest respect and affection for you and your friendship.....and I miss your company and friendship. I have absolutely no excuse for my conduct or the things which I said and am profoundly ashamed of myself and my behavior. I can not rewind the clock and change it...all I can do is say how deeply sorry I am. I truly miss you and so does snowball . Please try to forgive me  ... I would very much like to sit down face to face and make it right again.....
