Personally, I would go for a good 2-3 hr ride, but that's just me and my old hips. Whatever the route ends up being I'll just circle back around at the 2 hr mark and help the girls with the party prep.

I would also like to suggest that all attending this
Southern Ontario FJ Rally/BBQ          SOFJRBBQ
Ontario FJ Rally/BBQ                        OFJRBBQ
Canadian FJ Rally BBQ                     CANFJBBQ
North By North Central FJ Rally BBQ   NBNCFJRBBQ
The Beer and Meat FJ Rally BBQ        BAMFJRBBQ   (my personal favorite)
Beer, Meat and Bike Fest                  OHFORGETIT
The Great Canadian BMBFest
Kev The Grill Master Fest

be willing to throw at least a 10 spot into the hat for the host and all his costs.
I know from the last get together I ate at least 3x that in the most delicious Chicken, Pork and Steak and I was considered the picky eater compared to some...                                      \
Chris

:rofl2:  Awesome Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Did you just start a poll? :drinks:
Yes , filling the 'hat' would certainly help and encourage the host to cook just as good as the last BBQ!!!  Kev, The Grill Master With No Hair left on his arm, did just an awesome job :good:  .  To show our appreciation, we should bring our tools and , after a few cases of beer, help him finish his awesome zed!
:drinks:  He would then be indebted to us!!!!
Yes.... what are friends for, Kev. ...Just trying to help take the load off... :drinks: :good2:

I'll post a link to a route once I figure out what Bob did there with the Google map of 507 :)
I entered 'Bobcaygeon, ON' and 'Beaverton, ON' as start and end points for 'Get Directions', dragged the route to include Gooderham, clicked on the link icon (top left, next to the printer icon), copied the URL and added it as a link entry in the email (third button, under the Underline, wraps the link with [url]).

I'm close enough to Bobcaygeon that if we decide to meet at 9 am I can do the 507 loop on my way there  :good2:

To all --- Can we get a tentative head count of how many folks are doing this run?

I'm pondering asking around for some freebies, specials, souvenirs, what ever, from the locals or a Yamaha dealer. Don't ask - don't receive, right?

Off the record, I think some of you would appreciate a "4-20" clip with some town's emblem enameled on it, from what I'm reading between the lines.

Over the long weekend I'll wrap up a proposed route and have some plan B's. Last weekend there was a serious collision on 36 that meant turning back a half hour's drive and starting over in the other direction around the lakes. No other diversion route. That's how it can be up here sometimes.
Right now i'm thinking I'd come south to Omemee to collect the group from Port Perry and head to Bobcaygeon from there.

Also sum up the body count online here as guys chime in.

Figuring out the timing as to where/when you'd want to grab a snack near noon time. Closest civilization would be Bobcaygeon. I'll post some options.
Chamber of Commerce gave me some trinkets and souvenirs for the group.

Cathy and I may not do the entire route, but we will do as much as we can.... we will be 2up. :hi:
So, if I read the route correctly, we start at Port Perry, head to Omemee, then on to Bobcaygeon, then take the 507, ... to the 503..., ... then down to Coboconk,.... then on to Beaverton, then back to Maple?

Either Bobcaygeon, or Omemee might be a good place for Cathy and I to start :good: 2 1/2hrs to Beaverton from Bobcaygeon, then 1 1/2hrs to Maple...

Unfortunately I'm out... more FJ issues to fix.

The new rear rotor, caliper and bearings (all of which were overdue for replacement) highlighted how bad my chain was.
I assume it should not be making clicking noises  :negative:

New chain and sprockets are on order, but it is unlikely they'll arrive before Saturday.
On the up side: I can finally replace my 49 tooth rear sprocket with something a bit more highway friendly (got a 40, so I'll have a 18/40 mix).

I assume I'll be able to attend any future rides... if not, I may need to borrow one of our southern neighbour's firearms and put my FJ out of its misery

Have a good ride everyone.

Hey Bob....I have a spare chain and sprocket from when I did the mods......they are yours if you want them......or at least borrow till your new ones arrive.....would be such a shame to miss this one too........... :empathy3:

Thanks... but I can't use stock. My JMC swingarm is extended by 4" (I still have my stock chain and sprockets).

Normally I keep up on maintenance better than this. I did start a demanding new job in May, so I've been distracted. Not a good excuse.
But once I have everything working I'll be able to ride to work, which has never been an option before.
