B is mt. washington
C is Kancamagus start
D is Kancamagus end.
E back to start.

do you mean the crawford notch state park?

i think those probably are cooler bike roads. the loop goes around the mountains but if we alter the loop after mount washington a little we can go through and over the mountains a couple times check out loop 2

I am definitely on board for that route. Looks like a good day. Anyone have a feeling for how the ride from Brunswick area to Sunday river is? I would probably ride to my folks house in Harpswell the day before and then on to Sunday River.

I have lurked on this forum since its birth, it will be great to finally hook up with some of you guys.

Also any thoughts on when? Need to give the wife a heads up.

yes im sure everyone has been wondering when, it was pretty wet here for the first half of the summer last year, something like 22 days in a row.
later might be better for all of us, get an idea of what we are working with for number of people  is 10 bikes too ambitious?

Be aware that national or state park roads can be VERY crowded even on weekdays. 

I found that out the hard way on a Tuesday ride through the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. 
Holy Crap!  That wound up being a 50 mile crawl through a slow-rolling parking lot.

personally i prefer riding over the mtns rather than around them....elevation and curves are good for the soul and my personal favorites...... the more curves and elevation the better  ....  preferably with the lowest amount of 4 wheel traffic possible  

dont worry so much about the mileage and concentrate on the best riding.....if making a loop is boring then find some good twisty roads to do out n back's on.  I know what the regular rally folks are used to and it's not straight and/or boring roads.

seeing how i'm gonna have to ride about a thousand miles just to get there i dont think a warmup will be necessary..... just show me the twisty bits and i'll be happy   ( it looks like i will have already ridden some of those roads coming in from NC )

we definitely need to have the rally at some sort of campground with cabins like a KOA.... someplace where we can have a fire.... we HAVE TO HAVE A FIRE !    I think that's gonna be the number one thing to finalize quickly so that reservations can be made asap.

dont forget the firewood.....we'll need a souce for lots of it!


I'm excited.... my first trip to Maine.... CAN YOU DIG IT?

All right guys, now I am chomping at the bit. What can I do to help? The thought of a New England FJ rally is awesome . As far as routes go, I am game for anything outside of my 45 MPH commute with cages.

I realize that this is a tall order, but... Are we open to non FJ riders. My riding partner rides a CBR1100XX, he rides like most of the FJ riders do and is a solid and stand up guy. I would like to bring him along. Any objections?

Definitely not an asshole. He does get a little grumpy when a certain FJ1200 is glued to his more "modern" ass  . Great guy, great rider.
