two nights around the campfire is good.

sunday start heading for home.... could be another group ride if group heading in the right direction...... i would also like to finish off the northern part of my travel map while im up there.

looking like i will be riding a couple thousand miles that weekend..... i think thats enough  :good2:

hey guys, i have finally talked to nearly everyone here if not by phone than by PM

and after feeling everyone out a little bit the best decision for the rally is at pleasant view.

it seems the majority of you guys are happy to, or planning on staying in a tent.

which makes pleasant view the smartest choice for everyone, I would think that you guys could tent

right at the group site helping keep costs to a minimum. (unless you need power).

now, i know i talked to several of you and the consensus was we should discuss the pro's and con's

and vote. However the biggest con for pleasant view was lack of cabins. and since so many are tenting

it's not really an issue. which makes it the perfect place.

if someone disagrees with this decision PM me and let me know,if i get 2 people to PM me about the decision in the next couple days we will

then discuss the pros and cons a little more in detail and have a vote on saco KOA vs. pleasant view. if i don't hear anything then pleasant view it is.

i did get the feeling that everyone was okay with pleasant view and i don't think anyone will have a problem with the decision to stay there.

we will be waiting a couple of days before reserving the group site to give anyone or everyone a chance to post their opinion.

i believe the group site will be aprox. $7 a night per person, i don't know how many tents they allow us on that site but $7 would

be a heck of a deal.   http://www.pleasantrivercampground.com/index.htm

here is the address for those who haven't checked it out.

and for the people who want there is a camper they rent a couple condo rooms and the motel close enough by, to accommodate the

riders who decide to come at the last minute. But they will have to make the phone call for their own reservations.

also it looks like everyone was happy to switch the ride to Saturday and Sunday, 17th and 18th. Most or all of us will be meeting Friday night

so i can say thank you to everyone for the couple guys this really helped out. They greatly appreciated the flexibility everyone has.

Frank is only going to be able to ride one day, Saturday, which works good because the first day is probably going to be the better ride.

Rumor has, Murray is planning on showing up a day early so if you wanted to stay an extra night (thursday) you may not be alone.

that's all for now, feel free to post your comments

thanks,
Travis

Hear Hear, nice job on being point man Travis! I am really looking forward to the rally and very much appreciate the planning being put into it. Thanks Frank for giving a push when we're stuck on a topic and of course the rally vets for the suggestions.

alright a couple of questions for everyone going to the northeast rally,

everyone is staying over Sunday night and driving home Monday? don't want to reserve the group site Sunday night if everyone is leaving after the ride.

i was assuming everyone is staying Sunday night, until Mark asked me and now i am second guessing my assumption.

and what are your thoughts for lunch, do you guys want to stop at a sandwich shop, pizza place, restaurant, steak house, Pub, or Fast food.

please no Thia food i hate that crap  :negative:

If everything goes a planned, I'll be there Friday night and Saturday night--headed home Sunday night.

Ride over Friday, stay Fri and Saturday nights, head home Sunday afternoon possibly after a group ride. Lunch at restaurant or steak house, good place to sit and gab for a while. Might as well have some nice food to go with a great weekend. Other than the promised BBQ lobster.

If there are a few guys staying over I probably will as well. The thought of all day in the saddle and then 3.5 hrs of slab after dark lacks fun. After all one more night around the campfire lying about how fast we rode is always fun.

Travis, Thanks again for all the legwork.

Definitely mead reserved for Sunday night.  :nyam2:  I'll be staying over, ride back on Monday.
Are we solidified enough on the plans to give Marsh what he needs to get us on the FJ Rally site?

I will be there as long as there are others to ride, lie, and drink beer with. looks like I will need a bigger trailer to bring enough beer though, Is there anyone else that needs stuff (beer, soda, food, etc.) brought to the camp ground please let me know.

okay guys we have the place reserved for 3 nights Friday, Saturday, Sunday.  :drinks:

if your staying in a tent than you don't have to make reservations, just show up  :yahoo:

and it should only be $7 a night per person.

the catch is......... the Group (rally) site has a $70 minimum per night. with ten of us going that is only $7 a night each.

every person after ten (tenting on the group site) will also have to pay $7 a night also.
