One of the reasons I'm not going to Maine is that my rear wheel is still making an uncomfortable hitting sound on each rotation. Other riders noticed it last year. I thought it may be the rotor, so I replaced it with a new one. I also replaced the rear brake caliper (it need to be done anyway).

Took the bike to work on Wednesday, and the noise is still there, and getting worse. I'm concerned. The last thing I want is a major failure. So, this weekend I'll be working on FJ... no riding until it sounds right.

Enjoy the gathering. I assume I'll join you for the next one. If anyone is passing by Whitby, I'm five minutes north of the 401 at Thickson. We're home in the afternoon; PM me if you can drop by.

Badly worn wheel bearings -chech for play with the bike on the center stand. Also do your rotors or pads show any signs of uneven wear?
Live hardy, or go home.

Bob,
What Dan said.  Last time I heard a rythmic ticking/clunk from a rear wheel, the bearing had wallowed out the wheel and just fell out.

I can see another Saturday getting jammed up on me because of work, which really pisses me off, but I want to get out there at some point in the proceedings before sundown. That's when the bears and deer come out to play on the road, lol.
eg. last Saturday I couldn't even start my ride to Minden until nearly 4 p.m. - rolled back into town at 9 p.m. which is the same time I'm writing this.

keeping my fingers crossed. I'll try and get word out. Have a safe and awesome ride tomorrow.

If someone wants to see any images I refer to in posts, first check my gallery here. If no bueno, send me a PM. More than glad to share.

Last post before the day gets under way...........if you can't make the ride.......come by anyway and have a few shots....bring 4 wheels if you can't bring 2........it's going to be a perfect day.
