Welcome Matt, you are in a perfect place to find an FJ and to attend next years rally. Good luck with your search, it should not take long, they seem to keep popping up.

Welcome Matt. They do come up for sale often. As Mark said you are in a good location to attend the West Coast Rally and next year should even be better celebrating 30 years since the first FJ hit the market. Lots of good people here for information and help. Feel free to ask questions as you are shopping.
Randy at RPM is a good source for parts http://www.rpmracingca.com/products.asp?cat=39 . Nice to know what is available as you are shopping for a bike.

Matt, we have members in Illinois, maybe even one near the bike that could check it out and kick the tires for you.

Hey, I'm a new member from Sacramento too! I know what you mean about finding a nice FJ but just keep your eye out on Craigslist, they come up. I'm going to make you weep now by showing you my 85 that I just bought here in Sac 2 weeks ago for only $800! Of course it hadn't been on the road in 12 years and had $700 in DMV fees but still a good deal. It wasn't running and had a few rough spots but after a week of cleaning and overhauling the carbs I got lucky and found a really nice 27,000 mile FJ underneath! Here's a link to a video a friend of mine made last Sunday.

Here's one in Bakersfield. You can't beat this one! I'd get it for sure if I hadn't just bought the 1100.

Premium priced, but at least the best year (and not one of the prototype models).    :bomb:

I wonder why the OEM mirrors were replaced with those Emgo pieces of crap?

More prototype years seem to be sold and on the road than other years, guess they upgraded to a level of incompetence....  :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:
