What, not one of you ungrateful fuckers has commented on how good the bike feels after doing the engine mount lube?
Poor Baldy, he worked his fingers to the bone doing all that work and you ingrates scorn him.
No wonder he drinks.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........Horse was impressed......me - meh - no detectable difference.

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.

Yeah I'm getting to that Klav.! Thanks General for putting on a great day, I was ready to stay over and put in a day working on YOUR bike. But, just shout out and and I'm sure there be some willing hands to help. Great work area you have there, plenty of space, good food/cold drinks, ahhh, we were spoiled. My ride home was one of joy, so smoooottttthhhhhhhh. I was slowing to 100kmh and opening the throttle up to 120, was turbine smooth. I think a combination of the engine mounts/vibranators/carb sync really worked wonders. I still have a nice new chain to put on yet, may improve things even further. I love these sorts of get togethers, jobs I put off at home on my own because they seem "too hard" become much easier with a few people helping.

But yep, good to catch up again, meet some new FJ addicts, I KNOW HOW TO CHECK THE ENGINE MOUNTS NOW,  YAHOOOOOOOOO! Thanks Doug, (Baldy). Bring on Bellingen, weeeeeeeeeeee.!

Hoo Roo

PS. Thanks Harvy for help cleaning the crud out of my LH fork seal area, not a hint of weepage when I arrived home,

The General

Yep a great day! (8 Bikes plus mine).
Don`t worry I got a real real lot of good material, education and plain fun out of the day. Special thanks to Baldy-he never stopped till the very end
- with a well deserved Cold Beer and BBQ snag in a bun that was smothered with butter, salad & "father`s favourite" sauce.  :drinks:

Amongst many things I also learnt ya need a 25mm deep socket for the spin on oil filter conversion (most sets seem to cover 24mm then jump ta 27mm) and also discovered not ta move the suspension around too much after removing the springs and replacing fork oil - Was a proper bastard trying to line up Darran`s "D" shaft.

I`m hoping the guys that were still there when Harvy left can remember his Bon voyage words of wisdom to me as he departed on the trip South. (please chime in to confirm I heard him correctly).

I know it`s suppose ta be secret Men`s business, but thought I should show ya how Baldy lines up his "D" shaft.

Stainesy

This was my first get together with some of the south east Queensland mob of FJ owners and I was a bit worried that I would be the only decent bloke in the world that liked owning and riding an FJ.  I shouldn't have worried because I found this bunch of blokes to be friendly, welcoming and decent.  Okay, so they may not have been as good looking as me or ride motorbikes for a living like me, or enjoy surfing after into their 50's or have a big d***, but we can't all be so lucky.       Thanks to The General for arranging this get together, for inviting me along and for providing his man shed and home for our use.

X-Ray

Good on you for coming Stainesy, hopefully we can get out for more rides around the place. I've been ignoring my poor FJ for so long, but after yesterday I'm trying to book weekends off everywhere to get out and about.!

and also discovered not ta move the suspension around too much after removing the springs and replacing fork oil - Was a proper bastard trying to line up Darran`s "D" shaft.

Was the easy part to do! :yahoo:

I know it`s suppose ta be secret Men`s business, but thought I should show ya how Baldy lines up his "D" shaft.
After the trouble I had with a similar set of leathers n the US last yr and Randy's assistance I couldn't bear to se Klav suffer trying to do up his zippers  :empathy2:

Horse

What an excellent day :yahoo: Thanks to Doug and all the  guys ... Have you ever seen ants on a dead roach ?? That was the action in Doug's man cave, spanners flying ,parts ready, plenty of advice & a bit of friendly shit bagging.. I was a bit worried about pulling my bike apart 150 K's from home & having to start work Sunday night but  silly me. If  anyone hasn't pulled & greased their front engine mounts yet , you are insane  :dash1: it has to be done full stop..... I DIDN'T believe it could make that much difference, on hitting 110 on the hi way  all vibes dissapeared. UNBELIEVABLE  :dance2:  on the way up my right hand went to sleep 4 times, on the way home not once. HAPPY DAZ   :drinks:    If you miss the next offering of a day like this you are truly a MUG.  The boys also decided I couldn't ride an FJ every day with the forks on mine so they just proceded to rip mine off in obvious anger and loan me a pair . :good2:  OK, so really these guys don't know me from a bar of salts , just bring em back when ya done Horse .. Your Shittin me, ain't ya !!!!!  I used to REALY LIKE my FJ now i'm falling in love with the damn thing  :wacko3: :wacko3:  Is the normal cause I'm starting to have strange thoughts!!! So many mods so short is life..... :hang1:  Once again many thanks to Doug and  everyone on Sunday for a great day.... :hi:

And Never Underestimate the Predictability of Stupidity !!

Heh Heh, gets ya bad eh? I think the best treatment Horse is to go through the list of Randys goodies on offer, grab something you think your FJ would like, and we'll have another day real soon hopefully to do it all again. Mmmmm, Before March, might be pushing it but anythings possible. The General needs some hands around his beast, I still have a chain/sprockets to do, whos game?  :wacko2:
