seal mate works pretty well to clean out any crud,, but if the seal has gone like one from my 88 , it wont help at all,, bloody seal had rusted out the spring that lives inside it, and perforated the seal itself,  so oil was coming out through the flat part on  top of the seal , , mind you the bike had sat four years

dam, if i had of known i could of lent you guys a chain breaker,  only a breaker and not a riveter as well though,  so only half the fun   , also have a chain tensioner, makes fitting the joining link much easier  , especially on your own, but you blokes should be fine with a shed full of hands  :good2:

Will there be a count of the number of purple thumbs on Monday? :-)

Joking..... Arnie
No purple thumbs yet, but here`s a question. When you`ve taken out the innards of the engine mounts (Cleaned etc cause they were shit - esp one of harvys) Do we also have to remove the outer mount as shown here:

All having a great time, though baldy`s a bit slow at reading Instructions, but klavdy`s got him under control by making sure he can`t sit in his chair.:

I did not as you are lubing the insert in the bush not the bush in the casting.

A splendid day was had by all ,first off we , (X-Ray, Stainsy, Baldy & I) met up at the B.P servo, amazingly we were all there before 07:30!

Stainsy was determined to document this auspicious occasion for posterity with his helmet cams.

Then it was off to The Generals.
Baldy led as it was just a hop ,skip and a double jump up and around and over the road where we found our good man, The General, waiting.
Not only was a beaut  workspace cleared and ready to go, there was cuppas and toast laid on.
So, with out much further ado, we got stuck into it.
Well, Baldy & T.G got stuck into it first,

"What's this thing then?"

"Oooh, shiny,,,"

"Where does it go?"

Baldy had a suggestion as to where it should go,

This caused X-Ray to do the hokey pokey, see?
He's putting his left foot in,

and caused The General to shake it all about,

or something,

A splendid day indeed. Many thanks must go to our gracious host for putting on the day and keeping us well fed and watered
There was plenty of FJ porn on hand with a few of the boys receiving goodie boxes from Randy.
We even had some time for a bit of tinkering.... Engine mounts were greased, forks were swapped out, spin on filters installed, fork oil changed, fork seals cleaned ,carbs synced +more.
All this and not one spanner turned on our gracious host beloved machines.
A big thank you to Lord Baldy for being the font of FJ knowledge that he is.
It was great to Catch up with some old faces and meet some new
See you all in Bellingen in 46 SLEEPS  :yahoo:

What, not one of you ungrateful fuckers has commented on how good the bike feels after doing the engine mount lube?
Poor Baldy, he worked his fingers to the bone doing all that work and you ingrates scorn him.
No wonder he drinks.
