X-Ray and you others currently dissing the rain you're getting.......

Don't tell it to piss off, just suggest it move a bit south where we need it.
Its awfully dry around here and there are fires all around the state in Vic.

Yeah, I tell you what, if you had all this rain in Vic we've had in the last 2 weeks, there would be no fires, everything would be green again, ahhhhh, theres no justice........

Wow, time is running away from me at the moment. The FJ is still in a few bits in the shed, its pissing down with rain, can't do any painting etc, Faaaarrrrkkkkk!!!!!!!!

Taking the headers and collars in tomorrow to get ceramic coated, when the rain stops I'll start cleaning/repainting the engine and frame downtubes, THEN I'll get stuck into installing Randys beaut looking oil cooler kit. I can't install the new cooler kit when the engine looks as grotty as it is,

I'll be doing the ride with a still weeping fork seal, looks like it was only a temporary fix we did Harvy, oh well, will get it looked at when I get back. Oh and once again, PISS OFF RAIN!!!!!!!!

hOO rOO

Hey General just get Xrays name engraved on the best presented FJ with all the work he's done and the little he's ridden it means he's a shoe in........... hold on mmmmmm nah don't do that he's not going to fix his fork seals slack bastid can't have that!!!! bloody imposter

X-Ray

Nah, I'm just trying in vain to get mine looking something remotely like Noels "just wheeled out of the showroom" stunner. Hate having the FJ looking tired and sad, it deserves better.

I'm getting the headers done here  http://www.competitioncoatings.com.au/exhaust.shtml  ,  and it looks like they do a nice job. Spoke to Peter the owner and he strips out the carbon build up on the inside of the headers and gives both outside AND inside the ceramic treatment. Can't wait to get them back.  :drinks:

Aaah, the magic of camera trickery and complimentary lighting. Very nice of you to say so Ray but it's a long way from that. I did however dismantle it until just the frame, engine and wiring remained to detail it as soon as I bought it four years ago. Trouble is I ride all year round and frequently ride dirt roads. My next planned ride has a 200km dirt section so it will either come back with dust in every nook and cranny or if it's wet it will look like Dogtired's Triumph - but not for long!

Good news is there`s quite a few names not on Harvy`s list yet, that are planning like hell to be there as a last minute, due to work obligations etc.... and we got plenty of spare beds.  :yahoo: Perfect long range weather forcast   :dance2: ..we got "The Ashes" being mounted in a Trophy presently under construction (With Thanks to Co Sponsors RPM & Taylor Constructions)  :good2: And and and...wait for it.....We got a chook raffle organised for friday & Saturdee nights  :drinks:

You can always stop at an overpass and drop it over the edge :-)
Or, maybe you could meet a (not so) nice girl in Bellingen and have her take it and you home for a meal. :-)
Or, we could find a place to cook it, along the way.
Or you could give it to someone who's ride home is shorter.

Lots of options

Wire it up to the headers - I reckon probably about 200km per side, maybe 300 for the first side as it's frozen. Voila, after a day's ride, dinner all ready...

Have any of you guys actually done "manifold cooking" on an FJ?

I seem to remember a cookbook many years ago that had recipes you could cook on a vehicle manifold.

For real!

Yep, seen a few videos of people driving in the outback here with potatoes/meat etc wrapped up in foil, wired to the exhaust manifold on their 4WDs, get to wherever and theres a hot meal. Seems to work I guess.
