Yep, as Arnie said, stick it in the corner. Only thing is mines sitting in the corner with a near new tyre on it,  :dash2:

X-Ray, Your option to keeping a wheel you'll likely never use with an almost new tire on it that's just going to dry up and rot..... :-(  is to sell the tire cheap to someone who still has the 16" rear, but trade wheels.  That way the wheel you'll never use, sitting in the corner of your shed will have an old worn tire on it and the buyer will have your original wheel with a nice almost new tire and not have to have it dis and re-mounted and re-balanced.

Cheers,
Arnie

Ok, guys, with all the expert modders out there, there has got to be something constructive to do with all these discarded wheels.  Get them all together out on route 66 and make a tourist trap out of them.  Hey, if they will come to look at half burried caddies and the worlds largest ball of string, they will come to see the tower of old FJ wheels.   :wacko3:

CraigO,

Yeah, OK.  I'll sell you my old wheel (actually someone else's wheel that I traded and sold the tire to) for $5.  You just have to pay the postage from here to CA or TX (or wherever) if you want it next to those buried Caddies.

Hey Ray,

How much did you pay for the new chain rubbing block, and where did you get it?  I noticed when I did my wheel change that mine was gone.  Bike Bandit wants $165 for it.  OUCH!!!!

these are your options:

send it to George B.
trade it for stuff at your local mc recyclers.
put it on ebay
remove the tire and take the wheel to the metal recycle place.
take removed tire to rally and if no one wants it start the campfire with it.

Really? I'm thinking leave it on the wheel and take it to the rally to keep the bugs in check-

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the options, but I have to ask.
Who is George B?
I like the idea to trade it in on other parts.
If I sold it on Ebay, for any price, I would fall right over.  Better a snowballs chance in hell
I don't see scraping it at the recycler.
Nor schlepping it to a rally.

Thanks for the options though.

There are some fj purists who believe the fj should be kept stock and not messed with.
George B. is one of these purists and has resurrected many an fj that would have gone to the scrap pile.
He is quite economical and can fix an fj with 50 cents and a gum wrapper at times.
part donations are always welcome and trades are possible. he has a 90 fj as well.
He does not hang out on this site however , but can be found on the yahoo fj site.
He lives a couple of blocks down the street from me.

Do you have contact info for George?  I have a pile of parts now from repairing Klavdy's old bike and am too lazy to sell.  I need a rt side mirror for a '90 as well, so maybe we can make a deal?

IIRC, good 'ole George is *considering* a 17" rear rim mod on his '90 (shudder)   Proof yet again, that the earth has shifted on it's axis..

It seems as though George has (finally?) realized the wide range of inexpensive rubber he can fit on a 17" rim vs. the oem 150/80-16 donut.

Amazing, if you think about it.

Hey Frank, my bad, that was me. Sorry bro, it won't happen again.  Just trying to keep a shit storm from happening, and folks from dog piling on you.

Looking back, of course you're right.... You are entitled to your opinion, and furthermore, entitled to express your opinion on this forum.

IMHO, We have so many other important things, interesting things, to discuss than 'ole George, but, fire away if you desire.

You are right. All forms of censorship are bad.   If you say it, then 'ya gotta own it..........Sorry amigo!  Fr. Paddy

everyone of the politically correct agenda can kiss my ass.... pile it on.

i dont choose to discuss george... but when someone posts his phone number on OUR forum i have to stand up and object.

tell us all why george doesnt post here ?

and why he didnt attend a WCR that was specifically moved closer to his house so he could attend ?

i remember him getting laid off from his job in 2000 and he said he would never take a job making less money than he was making before..... well guess the fuck what ?

here it is 11 years later and he still doesnt have a job and lives with his father (probably cause his mom wont let him move in with her)

oh yeah....the FJ..... the kindness of others is the only reason his motorcycle is even recognizable as one.

he is not my FJ brother even though he owns a FJ.

He is a LOSER! and i would say it to his lazy ass loser face.

PERIOD!
