I have been in contact with Hot Foot Moto regarding reverse engineering a good slider and offering them for sale. Balky got this ball rolling here http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=16941.0.

So Hot Foot would like to know how much interest there is in making them for the FJ world.

Hot Foot gave a ballpark range of $40.

If I wasn't converting 2 of my 86s to R1 swingarms. I would have ordered 1 just to have a spare. Because they're going to wear out. If you plan on keeping your bike. And not doing the work to convert the swing arm. You should get one of these.

That one is available in abundance as OEM. These earlier years are not.

I don't need one. But I voted for Andy French who is traveling and asked me to put a vote in for him.

I was able to find a good used one for my 1984 FJ a few years ago. However, if I had not I was planning on fabricating one from two pieces of Delrin and pop riveting it on.

Problem is it won't last long. Rubber in combination with chain lube, chain cleaner, oil, UV light....it just becomes crumbly. So you will need one sooner or later. Recently I managed to find one NOS, but even with that, I would buy a new one for sure, because...40$ just isn't expensive. Even this new one I bought...hmmm I don't know. Rubber just looks old.
