I've read somewhere we as FJ'ers who have done 17" conversions we can put a R6 side stand on to retain proper lean when we park....anyone seen this mod?

I have not heard of this. I would like to learn more.
Yes, with the back end raised, something needs to be done.
Here's what I did: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=4326.0

The R6 was introduced in 1999 so we have many models to choose from....Mark, can you narrow down a year (or a range of years) for us?

Hi Pat. I have copied this from Facebook

Hi Mark to overcome the too-short-side-stand-problem you could use an R6 side stand which is easy to adapt.
Thanks for that Peter Schneider. Any particular year?
Hello Mark Lowe - anyone of them will do.
That is the only info I have

Thanks. I just bought one too. Will see if it fits when I get it next week.

Urban_Legend

Is there any updates on how the R6 stand fitted?

I received it yesterday evening. Will try very soon and tell you guys how it went.

Job done. Takes about 10 minutes to swap them. The R6 stand fits fine.
It's about 2 centimeters longer than the old one.
The spring still bounces back, which sucks. Wished FJ had a better solution for that.

Urban_Legend

Will have to put one on my shopping list.

It's from YZF R6 - 2001 model.

A quick check on the Yamaha part # shows the same sidestand from 1999-2002 on the R-6's

Does the FJ side stand switch work with these side stands?
