I am thinking of shaping this windscreen to fit my 89'. Darran (oz.fj) has one fitted on his Blue and Gold 89' and IMO it looks pretty good.

A little early for April fools?

Seriously, is there a picture you can find, of this windscreen on a FJ?

I have ordered the CBR1100XX Double Bubble windscreen. It will be coming from China, so it will be 2-3 weeks before I receive it.

I received the CBR1100XX windscreen today. Fairly easy modification. I will verify this mod for the 88'-90' 3CV only.

I used my Zero Gravity windscreen as a template.

I placed double sided tape on the outer side of the Zero Gravity windscreen and laid it on the inside of the CBR windscreen. Using a paint pen, I drew the outline of the Zero Gravity windscreen and marked the mounting holes.

I used a Dremel with a heavy duty cutting wheel to cut away the excess material and a regular cordless drill to drill the mount holes. I purposely cut the shape a bit oversized for later fine fitment. Once the holes were drilled, I used all 8 of the mount screws with nuts and attached the Zero Gravity windscreen to the inside of the CBR windscreen. Very carefully, I used the Dremel to trim the CBR windscreen to the Zero Gravity windscreen.

Finished results are very satisfactory. I ordered Silver Mirror finish, because I really like how the Powerbronze Silver Iridium Flip screen looks.

The CBR windscreen as it looks delivered.

The excess flash after initial cutting.

The final product.

Fred, I'm not normally a cheer squad, but that looks great.
Good job on the fitting.

Thanks Fred. I ordered the silver one yesterday for my 89. Then I found the blue iridium one. So I ordered that one. Now I'm going to have the silver one extra. :dash2:
