Boy, what a great time for me. My first attendance at a FJ Rally.  :yahoo:

It was a real pleasure meeting many of you for the first time, and a few others for the second too.

I had some super riding with a number of you on Friday, going to Devil's Tower Monument in Wyoming. One of my goals of the trip to the Black Hills, and one that was not achieved, was to ride with a number of attendees, but because of a number of things, a rain-out courtesy of Mother Nature on Saturday, did not allow the time to do that. However, I did get to hang with all of you while at the resort.

I stayed on longer to take advantage of dry conditions and ride around, seeing seeing roads and riding routes, that I missed with some of you.

On Monday, I rode back up past Devil's Tower in Wyoming, then up into Montana (just to do it), then back down through Spearfish Canyon Road (stellar road and scenery), and then down the western side of the Black Hills in Wyoming, then over to the east to ride the Wildlife Loop again, then continued north towards the resort, and got a chance to ride the Needles Highway. All told, that day, I rode 450 miles. Quite a few in one day, but I'm pretty sure I saw everything that I didn't get to earlier in the trip, and then some.

Bombed it back home 635 miles in the heat yesterday. Total mileage for the trip: 2,414 miles. Considering approximately 1,270 miles of that was back and forth from Minneapolis to Hill City SD, and some for a side trip to Badlands NP on the way to the Rally, I definitely got some nice riding in  and around the Black Hills region while there.

Very happy that I attended the Rally, and happy to hear that there were no accidents for anyone, and that all returned safely home.  :good2:
