Yeah, it's a sad day. I just couldn't justify riding it once a year and letting it just rot in my garage in Washington. My wife said one day I will regret this, since this my favorite and best bike I've ever owned. She might be right. :pardon:

Goodbye, Mr. Max. I'll miss you and that earth-moving torque...

It's a shame that you sold the V-Max.  :sorry:

I have a co-worker that has an 85' V-Max and has not ridden it in over 2 years. I might make him an offer over the winter.

That is a bummer, hope she went to a good home. that is a good looking bike.

The howl of Mr Max when those secondaries open is a most lovely sound, second only to the howl of the 6 cylinder CBX in full song.

Although the mighty Vmax will pull the wings of the CBX....

It's a shame when you have to sell your favorite bike, even for the right reasons.  :empathy3:
When you get back to living in the States, you'll find another. That's the great thing about these bikes, though rare, not that rare.

So now I have to ask, did you buy that Dodge from the proceeds of the sale?  :good:

Yes, it went to a prior V-Max owner who needed to get another one. He seems like someone who will take care of it. For a monster bike like this, it's relatively easy to work on. Everything is easily accessible. No fuel tank in the way of tinkering with the carbs.

I will certainly miss it. It wouldn't start when I sold it. I even drained the carbs and tank and put fresh fuel in, but it was hard to crank, even with the battery on the charger all night. The buyer just called me a little while ago and said he replaced the battery and she fired right up.

Goodbye, Mr. Max. You have a good home now and will see more of the road... intimidating everything else on the pavement.

Remember the good times and just think someone else will be enjoying it.

And any motorcycle is easily replaceable.

I almost sold my FJ, but when push came to shove, I could not, at least not today.

The "new" Blackbird may be the bike that ruined me. The power is addictive. While the FJ's torque is a match for the XX, once that 'bird gets on the powerband, holy shit, it leaves the FJ for dead in a heartbeat, as it does the vast majority of anything on the road.

I had a Harley rider pull up next to me at a stoplight the other day, asked what the Blackbird was, I told him it was the new Honda 500 -

The look on his face after he launched from the stoplight as hard as he could and then saw my tail light fading away into the distance ahead of him had to be priceless!

Unfortuneate name for a ute.

We call them turds and can not figure out why anyone would buy a vehicle marked as a turd and why Toyota still produces them with that badging....

At least they had the decency to suggest it be kept off the road.
