Only for curiosity...
I have the fortune of living in Tenerife, with excelent temperatures of 20ºC to 28ºC all year long and with no more than 2 or 3 rainy weeks in the part of the island where I live, o I ride around 20.000 kms with my FJ (10.000 kms in my annual travel to Europe) and another around 10.000 kms with my CBX 750

I've been averaging about 11-12K miles per year on my FJR.  This year may be a bit down, as no trips, just commuting and a few weekend rides.

I'm at around 17k miles since last November so far. We'll see!

Or: probably less than Mike Ramos. Can't wait to hear his number.

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.

My highest year was 1988 with 22k but that was some time ago.
Multiple X country trips on the FJ and daily commute from Palm Desert to Pine Cove via Hwy 74.
Currently I average about 7-8k a year. (4k on the WCR after tour)
Now that I am retired I thought my tour mileage would go up but sadly no...my wife and I have been traveling, sans motorcycle.

Over my 44 year riding career I'm over the half million mile mark with over 200k of that on FJ's.

Cheers.

I'm lucky to get 3-4000 miles in my winter shortened riding season.
Close to 1000 of that is put on during my time attending the FJ rally.

Less in a year than Mike Ramos rides to the ECFR and back...   :sorry:

I've been there for a few years now, but that's changing soon.

I plan to be back to 20-25k before long.

From 1986-1996 I averaged 20,000 a year. I had 16 years of no riding.  :dash2:

I have had my FJ for a little over a year and have put 7000 miles on it. There was a 3 month span where I couldn't ride due to the head being rebuilt. I am figuring another 3000 to 5000 miles before the end of the year.

Last summer @7,000KMs...this working takes up way to much time.  So far this year 3,500Kms so total by October probably will be about the same.

For past 10 years or so pretty consistently avg about 8k/yr.  that is with zero commuting.

A third of yearly miles racked up for the two east coast FJ rallies, the rest from daytrips and some weekend camping with local adv gang.

andyb

More miles on two wheels than on four.

I put 300mi/mo on my car (averaged over the year).  The bikes aggregate end up gaining 5-7k or so in a year.  Mostly touring miles, usually 35-50 runs at the dragstrip yearly.

Yes, I destroy clutches, chains, tires, and so on.

FJscott

I avg 7000mi/yr. I work on the Ocean 6 months a year so it would be more if I had a normal job. in contrast I put around 1500mi/yr on my truck.

If we gave out the "iron butt" award you would be a contender for sure.

FJ MCC VII

I've put 2,161 miles on my latest FJ since the end of June. There are some magnificent roads around here (Austin, Texas). Devil's Backbone, Hamilton Pool Road, Ranch Road 2222, Bullick Hollow Road. Riding these legendary roads is like being in a video game! Especially at night. Also been to Dallas and back and Tyler and back. 3 hours each way, and 4 hours each way, respectively.

Back in my FJ heyday, I averages 7 or 8 K miles per year. My highest mileage was around 12,000 in 1992, but that included 2 round trips from Minneapolis to Mexico, at about 1,500 miles each. Stock seat...

I like to take a 100 to 200 mile joyride every week or two, and do some errand-running on the FJ as well.

The Yamaha FJ is the perfect motorcycle - comfortable enough to ride 500 miles in a day, fast enough to do it in 7 hours. Really.

Capn Ron

Just knockin about, I'll do around 3-4,000 miles/year...I did have a 5-year stretch where I was doing around 12,000/year...and then a blip where I did 17,000 miles in 3 months.  Approaching 100,000 lifetime miles and I can easily say that road-trip/rally miles come MUCH easier than LA commuting miles!
