My fastest was "h" at least that is what the speedo needle was pointing at the h of the "mph" I figure it was still only 150 ish. It was not on my stock '86 it was my modded fj1100 with taller gearing, wiseco pistons, heavy duty valve springs, dyna ignition and coils and kehein carbs with velocity stacks not filters, upgraded forks/brakes with 17" front and rear rims. It was remarkably stable  but it was back before I had a smart phone with a speedo app or gps I wish I knew how fast it realy was. Only did it twice but it's nice to have some long straight flat freeways here in texas for the times when you want to go full retard.

I may just possibly have been checking the bike out at around 120mph 2-up (should that be 2 1/2-up as the wife is pregnant?) on what possibly could have been a private road, or not!  I've recently bought it and just got it road legal.  When I got it, the speedo was reading just 200 miles higher than that recorded on the MOT (road worthiness test) issued in 2008, so it's not been used a lot in the last 5 years.

The bike was bought as a sidecar outfit, but I've temporarily split it to test the mechanical ability of the bike.  It's now got a squeak from the front suspension somewhere, but this is getting replaced with a leading link setup shortly. So no worries!

Have been a little timid when it comes to cracking the whip...not afraid but more worried on getting caught...lol...but I did let it go the other day...up into 4th around 8500 rpm pushing around 210 kph..then my magnet tank bag wanted to fly so I backed out....going to hit the 1/4 soon but with 18-38 gearing i'm guessing mid 11's I'll let ya know
My best is 11.28 on FZ 750 128 mph

About 130 during track days, 110 on the street.

I could not tell, the speedo was wiggling too much.
18/40 gearing 9500 rpm for a looooong count to 30..

Note to self: ***Do Not Raise Your Head Above The Windscreen*** until you get below 100..

Of course only on a track.....ahem.  :sarcastic: (gotta love those long desert highways)

Yea, closed track, don't do this unless under controlled conditions...

Lots of good answers, several are cracking me up.

I had the FJ up to the speed limit, maybe a little more.  The stock suspesnion and brakes need an upgrade.  Where I live, there are ALOT of straight roads, very, very few corners.  So there's lots of bikes around here that battle it out for top speed, not my game.  I love the corners.  Current goal is to be able to lean it over to the 95% indicator.  Now here is the question I have, how many FJ owners have found theirs?

On a previous bike, I hit 135 and I quickly realized how naked I felt with jeans on.  Wish my budget would allow me to have a two piece riding suit.
She's a dragon now, but will be knee dragging.

252 km/h in 1988 aboard my FJ 1100 trying to follow a GPZ 1000 RX and leaving a GPZ 900 for dead at the back
I know because the Traffic Police stop us due to a camouflaged patrol had trapped us. The luck then was that the camera were not advanced enough and the photo was moved. Today I would be in jail

After that, I´ve been around 10.000 rpms in 5th , around 250 km/h with my actual gearing, at different crazy days

Mark where I live at double the posted limit. The officer would give you a slow ride in his/her vehicle to meet to meet a friend of theirs called judge. So he/she could let you know how sorry you will be for those little infractions. Hope this did not happen to you.

When I lived in Arizona, I rode with a group from Phoenix down to Tucson, where we met a few other riders...................
We were on our way out to Kitt Peak to ride up, and the lead guys took off full throttle on this straight-flat stretch of road....
Among them was a Hyabusa, a ZX11, and a GSXR1000..........................I had no intention of being able to keep with them, but I pinned the throttle anyway......
They all disappeared into the distance, and I kept the throttle pinned for as long as I dared........The speedometer was bouncing between 145-155.
She had stock gearing(for a '90), and stock size wheels and tires, and stock exhaust...........I vaguely remember the tach reaching around 8500rpm in 5th...
I estimate I was doing somewhere around 130 actual.................
I scared myself for as long as I dared, then let off the throttle back down to normal speed...............The low brush on both sides of the road hide lots of animals
(the whole time I had it WFO, I kept thinking "Please don't let a coyote or jackrabbit run out in front of me, and Please don't let the chain snap")
I finally caught up to the other guys at the turnoff for Kitt peak, and the guy on the Hyabusa claimed he reached 180 indicated on that stretch.......
