blue dot calipers

 gonzajr// Hello;  over the week end I looked at blue dot caliper off a first generation r1. To fit 1989 fj with stock shocks and the bolt pattern was wide compare to the one on the bike. I need better braking. Also to fit a flat bar on this bike, dose the xj upper shock tree bolt on direct.

For the Blue Dot Calipers. I used a set of 2001 R1 calipers on mine.

So for yours is was a direct swap?

Yes, the calipers bolt on with no modification necessary. I put new pads in, bolted them on, attached the brake lines and bled the brakes and was ready to ride...

I used 97' blue dots calipers, and they bolted straight on too. I combined it with a R1 brake m/c from the same bike.
I have however swapt out my 86' anti dive forks with a set of 89' fork to loose the Anti dive. The 86 forks were also i bad shape.
