Jim,

Your standards are pretty low when you ride a rice burning Harley wanna-be V twin.  Team KTM will show you what a real V twin can do. The gauntlet has been thrown

Both of you best get out of the way when the trigger is pulled on my 37hp of fury..

Whatever it is, he's got to be at least six degrees separated from his old FJ.

Don't lump me in with that Carey guy..   Only 3 over 8+ years.  Vstrom for 6 years.. and DR650 since late 2011.  DR is a keeper.  I "drove" it 377 miles yesterday, love that bike.  Soon I will "drive" it to the rally.. You guys "driving" yours down?  :sarcastic:

Randy, time to make sure yours will start.  Poor old girl hasn't seen daylight since Tellico Plains has she? :pardon:

Actually, mine was out in Jan-Mar, but the slave cylinder failed... Parts are en route from RPM.

Carbs from the '90 are headed out to RPM soon.

I even fixed the brakes on the XT, so there.    :blum1:

It's really nice having a heated garage!    :good:

Is your stuff packed for Boone (don't forget the Beano this year  :bad:)?

Don't know how you made do without a garage in Indy.. that would suck.  Havent' packed or pm'd bike yet but not much to do. I've been riding a fair amount so bike in pretty good shape.   oil/filter(s) maybe check valve gap.  tires good.  My old cheapie mp3 player finally croaked probably replace that.

Looks like we've gone from no Nancy's to both Nancy's..  alright! :good2:

When I didn't have a garage available, the bikes lived in a storage unit.  A PITA for sure, but they were safe and out of the weather, and it was only 5 minutes away.  The FJ will be PM'ed this weekend, and new Superbrace installed.

Good deal that N & N will be there!   :good:

Sorry to hear about your Walkman.   :sorry:  Hope you had all those Lawrence Welk tunes backed up somewhere.

Still up in the air for NancyR (ME). Ain't quite sure how the bikes are getting there. I guess it will be hashed out this afternoon when Jeff gets home.
But the cardinal rule of no working on bikes before the rally bit him in the tush.....the choke cable on mine had been sticky and he was trying to remedy that last night and OOPS the darn thing broke. So of course we all know that with 20-something year old bikes you don't run down to your local mc shop for a replacement. He took his off his fj and put it on mine. He said he was going to Napa and buy an auto one and see if he could make it work.

It's been one of those weeks....

Or I could send you the one from the '90... it's not going to running for a few more weeks anyway.

Well, I'm in for the early shift.  Andrew finished exams yesterday and is driving back to Atlanta today with a carload of stuff.  He flies back to RDU Monday mid-day to pick up his EX500 and ride to Boone.  I'm riding north from Atlanta Monday to meet him there.

We're leaving Thursday because he flies to Germany with his mom Friday.  Weather.com says it's supposed to be 37F (3C) Monday night and somewhat less cold, but still cold, Tuesday night.  Wednesday night should be perfect camping weather, but with the cold for the first two nights and not wanting to pack and assemble/disassemble a tent for one night, I decided "screw it, I'm sleeping indoors three nights."  So, we have a Kabin for those three nights.

In fine FJ Rally tradition, Andrew's bike may or may not need a rear tire in the 1,000 miles he'll probably cover in the next week.  So far, all his riding has been on the Kenda, or whatever was on there when he bought it.  I can't wait until he gets a real tire for back there...

I may be coming back through Boone Friday night by car.  I still haven't got John (The Beer Scientist) back on two wheels again, his rebuilt carbs sit on my workbench waiting to go back on his Virago 750 and I'll be lucky to get my own bike packed and ready, let alone get John's assembled.  He and I are planning to head to Baltimore to visit my old college roommate Kevin who is having a bit of chemo lately, and we'll take a car in the hopes of possibly getting Kevin out of the house a bit.  Kevin won't ride on the back of a bike, and in my 25 years of Motorcycle Proselytizing I still haven't been able to get ahold of one to teach him to ride.  (I still haven't given up hope for evetually, but this won't be the summer for Kevin to learn to ride.)

My friend Dave from work, the guy who brought the GTS-1000 to Tellico (also the guy who made Andrew's & my Epic Ducati Adventure happen) may be able to get there for the weekend, but we may not overlap this weekend at all.

Can't wait to see you guys!
Reg Pridmore yelled at me once

Oh just great.  Andrew passed me on his 250.  With his 500, I won't be able to keep him in sight  :flag_of_truce:

I'll have some tools to replace a tire if needed.
