Motorcycle Drag Race in Hungary - Aug, 2013! Who's Going With Me?

Aug 16-18, 2013 at Kunmadaras Drag Arena. I just reserved a hotel near the track for the weekend. I plan to arrange everything around this since I made that mistake with conflicts preventing my attending this year.

SOOOOO..... I'm ready, but I need:

- Practice on my launch! Seriously!
- Straps for the front
- Maybe 1 more tooth on the rear? (stock now)

I'm very much a novice, but I'm running low 11's now. I have the oldest bike there, and I'm up against fuel injected 1,000+ cc bikes. But I've never had so much fun losing! Racing on a track Friday-Sunday for about $20. How can you go wrong?

Dam that's a cheap weekend of racing ,, do you use slicks or just use what you ride in on ,, have you tried a 15t front sprocket  (popcorn)
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

How many teeth on a stock front? I assume you are talking about going down a tooth or so? This track is almost a 6 hour ride to get there. So I need to balance driveability factors. A BIG concern of mine is breaking down out there - no shops to bring it to. Do a Google Maps search and look at Kunmadaras. You'll see what I'm talking about. Then the language barrier. That's a main reason I just dumped $200 into a new chain.

Pretty sure stock front is 17t,, I've tried a 15t , great launches but on the road engine is revving high , , be too much for the distance your traveling, , mind you at the time I had just fitted the gsxr rear and that was fitted with a 45t rear sprocket , , great set up for drags but not on the street,, do you have to use a sump gaurd oil catcher thingo   :lol:,, and lock wire enging parts like most places, they seem pretty relaxed over there,, +10 on your good chain, last thing you. Want chewing threw your cases ,, ling walk home

No rules for that stuff at all... but maybe only in my class. Safety is a huge personal responsibility, not like in the U.S. where people sue for anything. I don't think lawsuits even exist here. Fair compensation at best. If you damage something, you pay for it. Pretty simple.

Sounds fair, insurance would be much cheaper  :biggrin:if everyone did that , , still a lack of lawsuits down here for now, , we havnt caught up to the states that much

I believe the stock FJ1200 rear sprocket has 42 teeth.
