Sorry to hear of the news - Mike/Mark told me today -- I was shocked.  Prayers with him for a speedy recovery.

Interesting to see the support for "the single most offensive individual" on the board...

I have also met and spent some time with Klavdy, at the WCR last yr.

"straight up solid good guy"...  that's a fair assessment I bet, but he's just the funniest fucker sometimes. Last WCR he captivated many of us with the Aussie "road train" stories of the northern routes...  a bird shit and dead roo cocktail for your cycling pleasure.  He's a great story teller!   :drinks:

Kick this thing dude...  you want to ride my revision of your old bike at the 2012 WCR.   :dance2:

Bloody Hell!! And I didn't even know what Peritonitis was till I just looked it up.
Haven't caught up with Klav for a few years, but I'm sure once he beats this he'll be walking tall telling everyone, "What? that pussy illness? , it'll take a lot more than that to keep me down."

Update:

QuoteDoctors had tried to bring him out of the coma this morning, but he became agitated, so they put him back to sleep.  They have reduced his sedation and he was reacting to the nurses when they spoke to him.  He did move his eyebrows at one stage when I spoke to him.  His heart rate was back to 95 and his temp still slightly elevated at 37.8, but is gradually coming down.  He was still quite sweaty but that is normal for someone fighting infection.  The plan is that they will stop 2 of his sedatives at 4am and the third at 7am, so he should be fully awake around midday.

Wow. Thanks for the update Marsh.

Thanks Marsh, good to know that Klavdy seems to be past a critical point and is on the mend.

I hope so.  He is still in ICU and is expected to be there for 3 more days the last I heard.

Very positive news -- he still has a lot of fight in him -- giving the Dr's the business.  Here's hoping for continued positive news
