Just to dig this out of the rally section.

Hey Pat,
How are you doing?  What's the prognosis?  What parts do you need?

Let us know how it's going when you get a chance.

HA! That's good Danny!  :-)

Maybe I can dig up a few spare '57 Raforth parts that will interchange.

Hey guys! Back online for just a bit.
Resting my broken bones at my son's house in Loomis (east of Sacramento) My 3 year old grand daughter is my nurse, a sure recipe for recovery. That Hydrocodone is some good shit, but I've got to be careful with it. Rest, pain meds and breathing exercises is the order of the day.
Thank you all for your offers to to help. My wife was amazed, reading my e-mails from you galoots. You made her feel better with your encouragement and support. She said,"....see honey? All these guys, one of them will buy your bike when you sell it next week..." To which I replied, "I think it's time for another pill..."
A special thank you to Gazza. Laying by the side of the road, trying to breath, I could have not asked for a better friend.

Sooo here's the bazzaro Xfile moment of the day.
I'm in the ER in Hollister and they are cutting off my clothes and I hear clapping....WTF? Yea, they're clapping and smiling at me and my pile of gear. Not one abrasion. As in nada, zippo, zilsch. The CE armor did it's stuff protecting my knees, hips, shoulders and elbows. My Gloves did their thing. I have a dislocated left thumb but that's not the gloves fault. My helmet saved my life.

Yes, I was unlucky but then again, very fortunate.   Later gents.   Pat

Hey Pat,
Great to hear from you!  Take it easy and follow the doctor's instructions.

Yes, that hydrocodone is good chit, but it can cause some undesireable "complications."  If you continue to take them, start drinking a fiber supplement and taking a stool softener.

Don't laugh, those "complications" sent me to the emergency room back when I was getting radiation and chemo.  It was such an unpleasant experience that I quit taking the drugs and just put up with the pain (which was significant).

You've been warned! And believe me, I know what I'm talking about.

Stuff it, jerkface.

(Don't want the little woman to have a coronary, have some contrast :blum1:)

Hope ya feel better man, and d-man is right.  There's other complications as well, lmk if you've got questions (or as yer doc, etc), but for the most part the complications are less harmful than being in pain would be.

Good gear rocks, yes?  Imagine how much fun you'd be having if you were coated in a layer of absent skin!

<edit:  and both of you two (pat and david), check your pm's when you get a chance!  it's started...>

Pat, glad to hear you're on the mend. I know it hurts, but I bet it would have hurt more if it happened on the way to the rally instead of on the way home.

Rest up and take it slow

Too Much Information. Good Milk Jug, man, have you no shame? I thought PM's were for talking about BM's. :sarcastic:

Damn Paddy, 1st I've heard of this!  Take care of yourself, and be glad you're retired..... no having to go back before you're ready.  Heal well, enjoy the good drugs in moderation! Hydrocodone is my preferred painkiller.... haven't needed any for a few years though, thankfully.
