Pat, I hope you get well soon.  When an experienced rider goes down, it makes me think twice.

What caused the wreck?

I heard that he hit some sand in a corner off of State Route 156.  One reason I wait for a couple of days after a rain is that the sand get cleaned out of the corners by other traffic.  This makes for a safer ride.

Pat, glad to hear that your in good 3yr old hands  :good2:  Kids are great therapy.
I do wonder what your beautiful bike looks like..... :dash2: :sorry:
I am sure I am not alone,

Yeppers that was it, sand.
Gazza and I were south of Hollister on Hwy 25 heading towords Hwy 198.
Sunday early afternoon. No traffic. Patchy overcast skies but no rain. Beautiful farm country. Hwy in good shape, roadway dry. I did not see any other evidence of sandy washouts, common after heavy rains.
I was going moderately slow, ~45mph, came over a small rise and I was leaning the bike over getting her set up for a right hander when I saw this strip of sand right in front of my tire. Wham. I stayed awake for the whole incident, I remember yelling Nooooooo....Oh well.
Bones will mend and bikes will be fixed. I was unlucky yet very fortunate.
aaand..I really thought I was done working on my '84.   Cheers!   Pat
