When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Could a guy get one bare aluminium, for those of us that like to polish?

Leon,
That was on my list to get a few unfinished, that is still the plan.

Randy,

Will these fit my '84?  If so I'm game for a clear (or silver)

Dennis,
It will fit all years with stock forks. Can you go ahead and put your preference in the poll so I have that number to work from.

Thanks, Randy

What I need to know from the group is; What color option? I have a couple of weeks to let him know before they are sent out to be anodized. I am going to have them done in clear & black.

My question to you guys is, which one would you prefer? I want to make sure I get the color that will be most popular. Depending on the count I want to make sure I get the most popular color and have the other as an option for those who want an option.

By the poll so far the "clear" is the choice, but with that said I am still short of the minimum of 25 that was required for them to setup and make.

I am having the 25 made and will probably bump it up to 30. I will order 20 clear, the majority of the remaining in black with the remaining raw.

There was a request for raw/unfinished so that it could be polished without having to remove the anodizing by one member.

If there are those of you who want raw machined ones as well, please let me know and I will subtract that from the 10 remaining of the 30 count.

I talked to the machine shop today as he was confirming the order as the setup is complete and he is going to start the run. I have until early next week to advise on the color count.

Marsh, or an administrator,  can you please add raw/unfinished version to the poll.

Randy, with all the options I came up with....Witch design is the offered choice? Maybe I missed that in the posts.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

I will be very similar to the actual Superbrace design. I send one of them as well as all of the CAD drawing to get pricing.

The designs with additional machining had a higher cost, so I had to weigh cost versus function and end price.

It is split in the middle and has four bolts mounting it together on the forks. The design with the separate end caps and ventilated machining in the center was the most costly.

Here is a black one posted by Mark Martin.

Thanks, I know that chips on the floor cost in material and time. For me the function comes first and design can follow. Paying for light weight can mean paying extra in machine time.  I can have mine powder coated at work so I voted for clear, unfinished will also work so machine away and embrace the Kookaloo.....

Done!  People can also change their vote now if they have previously voted.

Randy, does anodize vs. unfinished change the price? I don't need the anodize to powder coat it RED (but it will add some protection when stones chip the paint) . I am gonna change my vote to unfinished and see how it fairs. It takes just one bad apple to mess things up and raise the price. Let us know.
