Yep, time for a REAL BIKE!
Why?
Coz it would match my dumbfuckery when "I had to Lay 'er down"yesterday.

Big stooge me, after Superbike School and all, did a real rookie stupid move yesterday on the Angeles Crest, had the FJ leaned over into a beautiful left hander, nice clear sight of the exit and the next corner, didn't pay attention to the pine cone bastards in the shadow.
Yep, hit a pine cone.
BANG, instant lowside at about 65-70 mph, skidded, oh, a good 80 paces into the mulga at the side of the road.
Fucked up the lovely new forks, scratched hell outta the left side fairing scoop, various other small things.
The men riding with me did a magnificent job of helping me out(no cell phone coverage in those mountains) organised a tow truck and Fluffy insisted on driving all the way up tp get me.
Thanks fellers, you are real mates.
More with pics later.

Is this crashing shit contagious, or is it just the fall rut selecting out the less suitable males? Sorry to hear about the bike Mr. K., glad you didn't mod yourself.

were you wearing your village people vanson leathers i hope?

Glad you're ok Klavdy. That's most important. Your track rated Vanson's leathers were a wise investment....

Ya Big Galoot, I keep telling you'se about those fucking PINE CONES!
For example: Here I am at the 2010 WCR Preaching about those devil's spawn... Notice Klavdy, on the right, walking away, no doubt laughing under his breath:

sorry to hear about your unintentional dismount....... i've been on the Angeles Crest and (least the sections i was on) you're lucky you got your bike back.

Hey klavdy, I took some after crash picks for you, I will shoot them off to you if you ping me an email address (PM if you prefer). Your gear very clearly took a beating and still left you a little beat up. A good example of ATGATT. Your bike took a good 300+ foot slide according to the witness marks in the pavement and my estimate of distance. I am guessing you stopped short of your bike with your leather having more friction than the plastic and metal parts of the bike. Very sorry my first day meeting you had a less than happy ending, but very happy you are OK and will ride again in spite of the attach Pine-cones that we live with every day here in the Angeles Crest.

I am certain that it was an "Aggressive Attack Pine-cone" that got your front tire. Too bad our recent forest fires did not get them all. We try and suffer the risk of losing life and home to set fire and burn them out but alas....they survive and take a visitor unfamiliar to the local hazards....let us know when you wish to return and we will nuke the pine cones!!!! Er....never mind, it would tarnish the beautiful roads and scenery you like so much. Do they teach a level 5 on avoidance of Pine-cones?

Heal fast and return soon.

I got a picture of the offending SOB, before Klavdy flattend him! Bigger than Dallas, I don't know how he didn't see it.

Seriously, there was shit everywhere!  Mark (FJMonkey) & I were up on the same roads about 6 weeks ago and it was pristine.  But Sunday there were pine needles & cones everywhere as well as a lot of baseball to breadloaf sized rocks all about.  I guess we were lucky we only lost 1.  Bummer of a cap on a nice day of riding.  I spoke to K-man tonight, and the FJ doesn't sound good.  He thinks the frames bent  :ireful:.

Bummer.
Heal quickly, K-man!

Thanks for all the support and good wishes fellows, it really shows how much this group look out for each other.
At this stage there's fairly minor damage to the bike, the forks need new chrome sliders (already sourced some)new left hand "Yamaha" cover, you know, that round cover over the timing/ignition thingy, new gear lever, scratched the fairing and left mirror, the right hand side has no damage at all.
At this stage it doesn't look like the frame is bent, just a bit of a tweak to the rear subframe where the gear lever and footpegs mount,

Fucken pine cones!

Bastarard things are every bloody where,
