This is never a good thing to hear about, but it looks like you and the FJ will live to ride another day.
I'm glad you weren't seriously injured.

Take care,
Leon

Thanks for all the support and good wishes fellows, it really shows how much this group look out for each other.
At this stage there's fairly minor damage to the bike, the forks need new chrome sliders (already sourced some)new left hand "Yamaha" cover, you know, that round cover over the timing/ignition thingy, new gear lever, scratched the fairing and left mirror, the right hand side has no damage at all.
At this stage it doesn't look like the frame is bent, just a bit of a tweak to the rear subframe where the gear lever and footpegs mount,

Fucken pine cones!

Bastarard things are every bloody where,

Glad you're okay mate, but goddamit Klavdy you just can't have nice things! :shok:

Sorry to hear about the off Klavdy, it's just plain never fun to drop a bike at any speed, much less 60-70...  Glad to read you're OK.  Just know it certainly could have been much worse.

Think of it this way, at least it was while actually riding on the open road -that is at least a respectable off, if such a thing exists.

By contrast, a few years back, in early spring I actually managed to high-side my Gixxer in my own driveway, with my 5 year old kids watching no less.  Cold tires caught me out, spun-up unexpectedly and when I chopped the throttle, it through (there's a free one for you) me off.

Again, glad you're OK, that's the important bit.

Is this crashing shit contagious, or is it just the fall rut selecting out the less suitable males? Sorry to hear about the bike Mr. K., glad you didn't mod yourself.

I was just thinking that..  Normally it seems like years between incidents, for the regulars at least - not counting rally r1's.

Hope this marks the end of ass-over-handlebars season.

Man, thats some serious rash.....those parts aren't cheap either.

Not to bust balls, but if I had a dollar for every time I heard a story like this. A super important part of the overall situational awareness you need is to constantly, over and over, ask yourself the question: "Can I drive over what is is front of me right now"  A classis example is seeing a puddle of water on a warm summer day.....wait a minute, it hasn't rained, Oooops! Its tranny fluid!

I did something like you just did a long time ago, except it was a buffed smooth and wet manhole cover. Had the bike laid over like something you see on TV, whoosh! That thing slid 300+ feet down the road. My hands and body were so rashed....

Update FYI: Klavdy just got back from the doctor and has a broken right "pinkie" finger (may need a pin put in), 2 cracked ribs, a small bit of road rash on his lower back and a "jammed" big toe.  He'll be in pain for a while - but otherwise he'll be alright.  Certainly could have been MUCH worse.

Wow,  What can we say....... we all know it can happen.   Sorry you were the choosen one Klavdy!

But speaking for the FJ masses; we are all pleased you were left with only minor injuries.  If I can say your injuries sustained were minor????  blah blah.

Peace Man, keep us posted!

Glad to hear you're ok.

This brings back unpleasant memories of my last get-off when I ended up under a car.

Best of luck to you.

I think the correct term is "it throwed".  K will know for sure.

Arse.
The Brits would say 'get well soon' - now I'm more American - I'm going with their proactive 'get better now' wish.
While you're repairing, enjoy these videos - there's even a Harley in them, so you can get to choosing your accessories what match etc. etc.

Pine cones save lives.

If not for the Pine cone you may have crashed into a tired trucker who swerved into your lane only a couple turns away.

Embrace the pine cone. A tribute for Klavdy

I was a bit bummed when I could not join the group on the ride with Klavdy last week. So I logged in this morning to see how it went. Checked the trip reports, nothing. Oh well lets see what else is going on.
From Klavdy, emm, what buying a Harley? Their for fags...I knew it!
Klavdy, I'm so glad you are OK. When I met you at the WCR I was almost disappointed to find you were nice guy. I expected so much less. I did about the same amount of damage to myself and bike with 10 MPH spill a few months ago (first time for me). I guess it's true what the say about two kinds of riders.
Anyway you take care and look forward to see reports of you and your bikes recovery
or buy a Harley you #*$!
