I bought a fj1100 last week.
I have 2 GP1200 waverunners a 1997 and a 1999 now I have a 85 fj1100 too.
So far its a nice bike the transmision will need undercut gears probably when it gets colder and I put her away for winter.
Low miles on the clock 18000 ml needs a rear tire  and I need to get licenced.
Then its taking a 8 hour trip to Tennesse
My waverunners have been modified my 99 is waiting on LA Sleeve to resleeve one of my cylinders to fix a stuck piston I had earlier this year.
Its on Max bore has raised comp and is ported. It should be pushing around 165-170 HP.
Who knows whats in store for my j1100 in the future  :good2:

Thanks for the welcome guys.I might buy a Dunlop GT501 150/80-16 for the rear.
I have a Maxxis 120/80-16 v rated on the front and I cant find a v rated Maxxis for the back.I see some nice Radial tires out there for the back but they dont match the front.I did find a Maxxis the right size but it was H rated not V rated.

You're going to have to get a late model FJ1200 to match the other waverunner!

No $$$ left right now.Hurting the 99 GP1200 just cost me $1000 for parts and machining. Then I bought the fj1100.Also my daughter is having a baby boy, today most likely.I am taking a 8 hour road trip on the fj to go see her within the next week.I will be geting my licence tommorow night dmv is open till 7:00pm.
I went and got my permit today but had no way to get my bike there without risking a ticket, tommorow weather permiting 60% chance of rain I have someone who can ride up there with me on his bike.
I also ordered a rear tire Dunlop GT501 150/80B-16 (71V) my Maxxis rear is somewhat worn in the middle im not sure if they will let me test with it or not,if not i will borrow my friends bike.
I had a Texas licence class M 27 years ago lol I expect the test will be no problem :drinks:
As far as a second fj give me some time its far easier to work on one bike if you have a second one to ride whille you work on the first one.
That or I may just start building a second motor.Got lots to learn but I have built lots of 2 stroke Yamaha motors.Leaving things stock performance wise to me is just wrong.Looking stock I like but I always want more power.
I wont be offering advise to anyone because I know verry little I will mostly be watching and listening but I like my 1985 fj1100 a lot and looking forward to riding it and learning more about it.

Daughter is in the hospital im waiting on a phone call from her insignificant other lol.
I did not get my licence they would not let me test because of rain.I did go out there I rode at least an hour in the rain.Bike ran great other than if it sits in the rain.It will have a hard time starting and will run rough for a whille.(not firing on all four)
Im bummed I did not get my licence I might have to wait for Saturday.I need a licensed rider to go with me.
Im off the rest of the week but need a licensed rider to go with me.Schaumburg DMV is just down the street, any takers

I was mostly kidding about the late model FJ...the red & white's match, a late model blue would be fairlly close to the other one.

It is much easier to ride one while wrenching on the other. -- and you're not so likely to take shortcuts in order to get back on the road instead of doing things right.

I would like a later model fj with it painted the same color as the 99 GP1200.

She ran great in the rain but had some issues whear she did not like to iddle at the lights.I was thinking it might be ignition related but it could be water dripingon the carbs etc.
