Let’s talk cruise controls.

I was shopping around on the internet that Al Gore Jr. invented, and trying to find a throttle lock type cruise I used to have on a 750 GSXR (I know, my bad) back in the day. I thought it was called a throttle-master, but, I couldn't find it. It was well made, seemed like stainless, replaced the bar ends, and, truth be told, I couldn't have ridden the bike the distances I did at the time (both coasts on that little guy) without it.
Fast forward 25 years, and I am looking to get back on an FJ, and would like a similar device to give my throttle hand a break from time to time on longer rides. Advancing age has brought about some numbness that crops up here and there as well. My hand needs a break here and there.
Anybody? I wasn't really looking for an electronic system, just a well made throttle lock.

They still make the Throttle Meister throttle locks. I have them on two of my FJs. They look good on the bar ends. It takes a little time to get them adjusted just right with the shim washers but once adjusted do work good.

You might want to take a look at the Omni-Cruise. It is the same principle as the I-Cruz, but appears to be a little nicer.

I have the Throttlemeister, but I never use it. The one I have used can be purchased from our host. The paddle-type is very effective and easily adjusted.

My post may have been confusing. I meant to say that I have the Throttlemeister bar ends installed on my bike, but I don't ever set the cruise. I got them for that, but I found I just never use it.

The one that is pictured above, which can be bought from RPM is one that I had used for several years before I bought the Throttlemeisters. It was a simple plastic paddle that would grip when twisted in one direction, and slip in the opposite. It simply sits under your palm and lets you hold the throttle without gripping the handle with your fingers to twist.

The Vista Cruise are nice. Pat and I have them on our bikes.
They take up very little throttle space and are easy to use.
The only down side I have found with them is, if you forget to release it and continue to use your throttle, it will wear a grove and eventually cut thru the nylon throttle tube. The continual rubbing will do the same (over a long period of time).
When I was at RPM replacing my throttle cables Robert and I caught that during the change and I had him install a new throttle tube. It would suck to have that wear thru 300 miles from nowhere.

Probably not the best way but my dad told me back in the day they would slip an o ring between the grip and bar end... works decently but but you have to manually roll the throttle back.  Real cheap to do
