It was a great time.

After the morning man-shed of exhaust and clutch work; Fred, Frank and I headed out for a late lunch and that turned into a early dinner.

We ended up with more miles today,  but since we left so late we got home well after dark.  We collected a bunch of bug on the way...

More to come tomorrow.

Well,  the 2019 RPM fall rally ended early this morning as Frank and Fred both stopped by before their long journey home.

I immediately got tied up this morning and was not able to get a wrap up post done.

I will get one done next weekend.

But until then,  I want to thank everyone who attended this year as a great time was had by all.

The roads were great,  the gathering of like mind individuals was enjoyable and the plans are already in place for 2020.

Hell,  I was finally able to convince CapnRon of the benefits of one of the most popular mods for the FJ.

Stay tuned and I hope everyone has had or is having safe travels home.

On another note,  Ryan hurt the engine at Laguna this weekend. He was able to get in two sessions and came within just a second of the track recorded for a Miata. Unfortunately,  clear track was never achieved for a clean lap.

Lessons were learned and modifications are already slated to resolve the oil staravion issue that hurt the engine.

The car turned a bunch of heads and the fastest guys in attendance were impressed by the car.  One guy told Ryan,  "I haven't be passed by a single car all weekend, but you blew by me like I had my foot on the brake".

Being the Fastest Slow guy, I figured out a way to keep up with Randy.... it needs to get dark.... Randy having a tinted visor and me having burn your retina lighting, made keeping up with him easier.  :flag_of_truce:

Under normal riding conditions, I am still the slow guy ...  :sarcastic:

A great time was had. Definitely a Rally that needs to be on everyone's must attend list. Phenomenal weather, incredible roads, and awesome FJ owners to socialize with.

Frank highly pressed on me to detour into Yosemite National Park on the way out for my trip back to Kansas. Teaser photo. Half Dome way off in the background

Even during daylight I could always tell if it was you behind me by my shadow appearing in front of me .Nice view.Looks like you visited Yosemite.

Here is the picture where we were stopped at the California EPA checkpoint waiting while our bikes were searched for plastic straws.

Yep, that was fun! Good roads and good food (even if they forgot my orders!); but the best part was being able to put faces to names. Good company. And I didn't crash!  :good2:

I made it home after a boring but uneventful slog down the 99. Turned left at Bakersfield and then another hour. About 4 hours door-to-door but the cruise control made it a bit easier. Hopefully next year I will have one of my FJ's put together in time for the rally.  See you then...

Jerry (Novaraptor) is in Vegas. I doubt he is still riding his FJ. I will PM his number.

Looks like a fun trip, Fred. I did the same stop in Winslow on my way to OKC back in the 90's.
