...You know the speed needed for that.

Nope, that just means the set-up is stiff and/or sway bars are way to heavy and lift the tires. Plus, you have all of that upper roof weight of a street car transferring...that would be a great dirt track weight transfer set-up.

You could go faster if all four tire were on the ground.

Course layout should be the same. We run many events with the T-Roadsters and Clown cars. They run the same configuration. Our front running cars are into the 1:48's now with the Hoosier tires. They also push 250hp/2350lbs. They're also in the $150k and up range. It really is apples and oranges tho. Two completely differnet types of racing. I believe the track record at Sonoma is held by a 60hp Formula Vee.

Rick, for apples to apples, make sure the course layout didn't change since Ryan and Robert posted those times back in 2011.

I'm curious, Randy, what's the power of weight ratio of those T roadsters?  1200/120.. ~10 lbs per hp?
Rick is pushing 10.8 lbs per hp 2450/225
Take the car weight, and the tire size and calculate the weight per inch of tire width.
What the Miata guys have learned, light weight with low power means, big tires and corner speed, corner speed, corner speed....

The track hasn't changed other than continue to age.

I would say the power to weight ratio13 is almost identical compared to what Rick is running as everything on the roadster is about half.

The minimum weight of the roadster is 1250 and the advertised horsepower is 106* for the factory sealed engines. I wish I could get to the minimum weight, but I am about 50lbs heavier.

So using the math, it takes 12.26 horsepower per pound. If we guesstimate the horsepower was increased to 120, it is exactly the same at 10.8

We run a 7" grooved contact patch tire. I don't know what Rick has, but I know they are wider than that for the front and significantly wider in the rear. So, Rick has more tire contact patch plus the additional wings and air dams to help keep that car stuck to the track.

My point is, if Rick wants to go faster, I am sure we can help him make that happen...

FYI, the EFI models are all rated at 98hp

BTW, does the little red nose have to be FIA rated?

You sure you want to go there...?

That is a question you already know the answer too.

Hell, that car has a front air dam and wing just like your car

well dog gone it...

I just noticed when my web page logged out, it logged back on as Robert...

I hate when he does that, I always log out, but he saves his log in.

Oh well, I sign all of my posts...

I'm going back to my account now.

**Fixed the Hp to weight ratio in your response ^^

Rick's tires have larger contact patches than your T roadster, a good thing because Rick is carrying twice the load in the corners....but I'll bet a jelly donut*** Rick does not have twice the contact patch you enjoy.
Assuming a 1G corner your 1300 lb roadster with 7" tires would carry approx 46 lbs of lateral load per inch of tire width. (just a simplification, assuming 4 tire equal loading, I know it's much, much more complicated)
I'll bet with Rick's tire widths and his weight, he will be carrying way more lateral loads per inch on his contact patches.
Corner speed, corner speed, corner speed....

Sure, as long as you are open minded and not stuck in the rut that you have to do it one way...

It will have to be mid week or later, I have to complete the EFI install on my truck early this week.
