Can't get the swingarm out..!!

Any tricks to get the fracking swingarm out!!?

Shaft and everything is removed without problems and it pivots freely up and down, but I simply can't pull it out  :mad:

use a rubber hammer and tap it out

There isn't really any space to get a hammer in and tap it in the right direction/place.

If I remember correctly you have to tilt the swing arm up a bit and pull to the rear of the bike.

Would it perhaps help to loosen the lower engine mount?

Lift the arm up at the pivot point, then pull back.

Not sure I understand what you mean? Lift it with a jack at the pivot point, or..?

Has the arm moved from the pivot point at all?
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Yes, but not sure what you want to see?

There is only one bolt holding the swingarm and it has been removed (I can see through the hole where it used to be  :smile: ).

Other than that, it would just be a picture of the swingarm sitting in the frame.

Try pushing the swing arm towards the front of the bike, then up , then pull it back out. ...
For some reason i remember having to do that.

If the '84/'85 frame is like the '86 frame then you need knock the pivot point up and slightly rearward. See the hollow area just above the pivot point. The first time I took my swing arm out it was harder than the times after that. Maybe you can get a lever to pry it gently on each side till it breaks free.

I had to loosen both footrest brackets to remove the swingarm.

Yes - and you can pry the swingarm up and back easier than using a mallet.
