you will get it done theLeopard....from what I see, is the material on the heavier side? Might want to try thinner.
Don't try to use the tacks.. almost impossible.....a cheap electric staple gun works fine.. but use the  smallest staples (1/4").
Did you try starting at each end first? I found if you start in the area that you would normally straddle the seat and pull side to side (staple as you go along) in that area first  and then progress forward and then back from that area works best.
When you hit a contoured area, use a heat gun to help the vinyl conform and staple as you go along.
Hope that makes sense?

Good luck

This has to be the funniest post of the week

At least you had the good sense to practice with some god awful colored material, kudos.

I like the Leopard spots on the air scoop myself.

The trick with recovering is to get the vinyl really warm and s - t - r - e -t -c -h it. I did my fj11 seat earlier this year and I left the vinyl in the sun for about a half hour before starting. I started in the middle and gradually worked towards each end. If I felt that the vinyl was resistant then I would leave it in the sun for a little while and then continue.

This is it.
