I have finally found a set of adjustable Billet Aluminum foot pegs made specifically for the FJ. Up to this point the only ones that were available were on eBay Germany and none of the sellers shipped to the U.S. I found this set on eBay France and the seller ships worldwide.

Here are what they look like on my FJ

Looks good. As i said before. Fred is building a new FJ one part at a time. He and I have a different way of reaching the goal. How much weight did you save?

Does it hit your brake pedal?

Looks like it retains the snap back spring which is a good thing... :good:

Yes, the pegs come with a spring that retains the snap back feature, and there are no clearance issue with the brake pedal, shift lever, or side stand.

What is the range of adjustment available with these? They do look nice. BTW.

aviationfred

The range of adjustment is 8 positions, and 360 degrees.

A note.... These are actually labeled as passenger pegs. If you place an order, specify that you want pilot pegs.

Is this still the case if the foot peg is rotated to its lowest position, where it would provide the greatest distance for peg-to-seat comfort? I can't tell from your pic, if there's a sufficient gap between the peg's bracket and outside surface of the brake pedal, so no contact is made between the two if the peg is put in the lowest position.

I've had OEM metal footpegs on another bike that I owned, I liked them, and vibration through them was never an issue, but that bike had V-4 motor. Have you noticed any increased vibration tranfer through the FJ application?

Fred,

I bought a pair of adjustable pegs from "mcmotoparts" on Ebay that look almost identical to the ones you pictured.
They cost me A$59 inc postage from HongKong.  Unfortunately, they don't seem to still have them available for sale.

Anyhow, mine differ from yours in that they use 2 locating pins instead of the interlocking face gears, and they were
advertised for a YZF1000. They fit fine, retain the spring, but I did add a washer to reduce the freeplay.

No problem with the brake lever hitting, but on the shift side, its a bit touchy to still be able to get your toe underneath.
Careful adjustment of the shifter rod was required.

Just found the website with pics and description.

I just installed some Buell footpegs I've had for 10 years...or so...

Unfortunately the narrow area inside the Buell pegs is too small to re-use the oem return springs. The holes in the Buell pegs were much to large for the M8 bolts which fit the oem peg brackets, so I pressed in some nylon bushings in the Buell pegs to fit the M8 thru bolts.

The added 1 1/4" from the lower Buell's is most welcome to my 62 year old knees.

These are aluminum, and there have been reports of these pegs cracking so I will keep a close eye on them. I can always go back to oem.

Good clearance on the right side for the brake pedal:

I also did the Buell foot pegs on my FJ although your installation is better looking than mine. I just used some clevis pins with snap pin on the bottom.  For $36 it got me a little more leg room but Fred's also gets them a little more forward.   Dave

...and Fred's are much stronger. Fred has a much better setup than the Buells.

You can see these in person, at your next visit to Fred's traveling FJ swap meet. Try your next FJ rally or in the off season Wichita, Kansas.
