That joke was about Fred at WCR last year. I think he also has a list of parts on his facebook page. Check back often, the list changes daily. Soon he will be adding a parts wanted section.

I have finally found a set of adjustable Billet Aluminum foot pegs made specifically for the FJ. Up to this point the only ones that were available were on eBay Germany and none of the sellers shipped to the U.S. I found this set on eBay France and the seller ships worldwide.

Fred, thanks for the R&D, now I'm looking to buy a set.

Question: The web site says" The adjustable mount's length wanted, available in 23mm, 30mm or 50mm"

Is it the 30mm length that you ordered and have pictured?

Thanks man,

Mark M

I ordered the 23mm length and have no clearance issues.

Twisted Throttle sells adjustable pegs, but NOT for our FJ's. I read there that the 50mm length should only be used for the passenger pegs.

Well I mounted a pair of lowered pegs this week like the ones Fred found.  I'm real happy with the new position and have been looking at this mod for a while. Fred, thanks again for researching and finding these.  You are the FJ aftermarket internet king!

I rotated my set down for maximum drop and ran into a clearance issue with the side stand where my foot was resting on side stand and it really was in the way.  I got a friend of mine to weld a spot on metal on the stop to keep the stand from coming up as high as it did before.  This is what it looks like.

I also had to cut the 'spoke' off of the side of the stand as that was still in the way even after limiting the amount the stand is able to go to it's up position. The little nub  that is left still works well to get t he stand down.

I also bent the shifter out a bit as the drop in the pegs puts your foot a little farther away from the bike.

I have one last problem to work out.  I  have the shifter adjusted all the way down.  It's OK, but if I could get it down a little more, it would be perfect.

Has anyone changed the linkage in the shifter to allow the shifter to be dropped or adjusted to a lower position??  Is this possible?

Arnie

After Fred posted about the drop pegs, I found a set of 25mm drop pegs on Ebay and installed them.
Much improved comfort on my ancient knees :-)

I also found that the shifter needed to be lowered and even cut a bit off the link rod so I could bring it down a bit more, however after doing this the rose joint at the shifter end hits the cutout on the footpeg plate which makes it dodgy getting into first gear. So, I've raised it back slightly.

Increasing the included angle of the shifter would fix the problem, but I'm not comfortable trying to bend the lever like that. Might have to take a file to that cutout :-/  Hmmmmm
