Rankings?? really.... wtf.... as Jeff Hoffman put it years ago prior to a rally ride " There are no winners here only losers."  Fix your bike, ride your bike, enjoy your bike its that simple.  We don't need no stinking ratings....

Yeah...one's quantitative participation in a forum tells me little about a fellow rider/mechanic.  There are times I've completely mis-read someone through reading posts only to have met them in person at a rally and thought, "Damn...that guy is alright!"

There are newbies to our digital campfire who can out-wrench, out-ride and out-weld me any day.  It's all about the willingness to to share your knowledge for the greater good of the group.  There will be something I know that you don't...and much more that the forum collective knows that will make the difference between continuing on a nation-wide tour or hanging it up and flying home.  EVERYone has some experience to offer that is unique to them...I'm happy to be part of a group that encourages each member to share that.   :hi:

Hopefully everyone understands the post count dealio . Not really a ranking system , just a post counter that makes you super hero member after 1000 posts.

Just something Marsh thought would be good for a laugh.  :biggrin:

The forum member number is just a user # of when you joined the site and is meaningless as well other than you were in the first hundred or so to join up when the site began back in feb 09 .  I just thought it was a cool thing to put next to my avatar . :pardon:

This site has a myriad of members from newbies to old dogs, and we learn from each other and argue about oil and tires from time to time.
Just because someone has a low post count does not make them uninformed to the ways of the FJ . On the other hand a high count does not mean expert in all things FJ.

I seldom logon here anymore except to PM or peruse files or pics, but this topic came to my attention...

#4 was me, under my original s/n.

When they deleted it, about 2600 posts went with it, IIRC.
