60 second steering head race removal

   G'day John, I bet when you posted this, you didn't expect it to end up where it has?  As a side note, good idea on the bearing removal.   :i_am_so_happy:  Pete.

Thanks for the great tip! I was gonna go the Dermal route but this sounds like the way to go.
But are two holes needed?  Seems like one would do the trick.
also, maybe threading the hole for a short screw would make this mod a bit more "sano" and would improve its weather-proofing

p.s.  re: traffic enforcement
In most if not all US jurisdictions revenue generation has at least - and generally more - a role in traffic enforcement than does a concern for public safety.
Unfortunately the revenue generated is not going into road/bridge maintenance.

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.

That was truly the worst part of my trip earlier to Oz, the speed limit. That was followed closely by the heat & humidity...

As I was riding to work yesterday I find myself looking down and seeing where the KPH are and I consistently find myself riding the country roads between 120 & 140kph.

Utah is 80 mph on 1-15 for the length of the state except going through the towns.  Funny, when I went through there last I didn't anyone speeding..  It is great!  Idaho is adopting the same in sections of I 84 to evaluate it.  I have been told on the side that in Utah the "leeway" for speeding tickets has tightend up. 80 means 80 not 85.  I am happy with 80.  Waiting for Nevada to go back to speed limited to road conditions  :lol:.

I miss the "reasonable and prudent" speed limit in Montana. I think even back then you would have a hard time trying to convince a Montana state trooper that 150 mph is reasonable or prudent :crazy:a lot of fun, I'll grant you that.

I think with one hole the race would tend to get skewed in the steering head and jam, a hole either side and tapping it alternately keeps it even as it comes out, but that said I didn't try it with just one so it might work ok. The screw sounds like a neat idea but the silicon works fine.

G'day Pete, I think we are definitely getting a bit off topic now and the way this is going we could have America and Canada at war by the end of the week, and we haven't had anyone from New Zealand join in yet. I'll add this in case they do then we'll all know what they're talking about.
