Does anyone know if stock carb jetting on a 86 FJ1200 with an older Vance and Hines 4into1 is Ok?

See Section 3.11 on this FJ FAQ website. It mentions Yoshimura exhaust, but I think it will be a good reference for your needs.

You don't mention if you have the stock airbox or the individual pods, but there's information for both.

Jetting is subject to a lot of variables, and I am certain that those on this forum with more background and knowledge regarding this, will offer more assistance.

If you are keeping the stock exhaust then not likely. Jetting is required when you allow more air to flow. That means both better intake and exhaust. Which also means you don't get much performance improvements until both are opened up....
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I suspect what Mark meant to say was if you are keeping your *stock airbox* then not likely....
You already stated that you have the V&H exhaust.
We have to forgive the Monkey, he is currently in a 3rd world country and has been eating too many gorditas.
No telling what is in the mystery meat they use there....parasitic worms can affect the cognitive functions.

Back to jets....if you wanted to bump up a size to 115's no big deal. The oem pilot jets on the USA bikes were on the lean side at 37.5.... Cooler low speed running can be had with 40's.. HTH  Pat

Bugger!! The gorditas  are not to blame, but Pat was right in correcting me. Maybe it was the tequila, michaladas, or the bull fighting...
