Rightyo then,
looks like next years West Coast Rally will be held around PORTERVILLE, CA. (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&cp=15&gs_id=6&xhr=t&q=porterville+ca&safe=off&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&biw=973&bih=409&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x80eaa77e1b5909cf:0x984106278a2b1a06,Porterville,+CA,+USA&gl=au&ei=hkfcTumiNoOfiAfdw93pBA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=2&sqi=2&ved=0CDcQ8gEwAQ)
You'll be told the dates a bit later, first off is sorting out the accommodation, the rides are pretty much open to interpretation.
The roads around there are fantastic with unbelievable scenery.
It's worth going there.
Zoom in on the 190, the clockwise Hwy 245 to the 198 Loop is a destination ride all of itself, that's one of the best road sections I've been on, really good.
Check out the racetrack to Wofford heights on the 155, you have to stop and calm down at either end and there's fantastic bars, restaurants, diners at either end, The Crazy Horse at Glennville (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&cp=15&gs_id=6&xhr=t&q=porterville+ca&safe=off&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.,cf.osb&biw=973&bih=409&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x80eaa77e1b5909cf:0x984106278a2b1a06,Porterville,+CA,+USA&gl=au&ei=hkfcTumiNoOfiAfdw93pBA&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=2&sqi=2&ved=0CDcQ8gEwAQ)is a beaut cowboy bar, friendly, motorcycle aware and has great food, music etc on the weekends.
It would be a great halfway stop on a ride.
Then there's the 190, holy mackerel, that's thrilling, incredible climb on smooth two laners up a long steep
mountain, see right through the corners and plenty of easy overtaking,it's got another cracker of a pit stop up on top,one of your big log built lodge/bar things, sell all sorts of food and drink with parking just outside where you can sit on the sunny deck with the bikes right in front of you.
Charge back down the mountain then stop at California Hot Springs for a soak , putt back to the lodging.
Our trip to NthnCA when we stayed at the Dude Ranch thing was pretty good, better than staying at a KOAS so here's somewhere on the same lines (http://www.sevencirclesretreat.org/home),don't let the Hippy shit put you off.
It's just one suggestion, there's also the option of staying IN Porteville/Visalia etc at a Hotel/Motel, they can be O.K but it's not really a get together with fires and stuff when you stay in those types of places.
There's shopping and bars/restaurants galore though.
The plan is to go there, meet up, thems that are going to Colorado can head there afterwards.
The next bit is important but, so pay attention.
This is where your suggestions come in,don't be shy, out with them.
If you don't speak up, you might regret it.
What Say Ye?
I hope the dates are still the first weekend in June as we have booked that time off work. Not sure how well received a bunch of bikers would be at a religious retreat..... but, if we can have fires, it kicks the shit out of a hotel.
The roads look great around there. Looks like a stop in Vegas might be in order on the way to Colorado.

Klavdy and I talked about this last night. We've been discussing it since the ride to last year's WCR. The area around Porterville has some awesome rides! Last year we hooked up with a sport touring group who has held rallies there for the last 16 years and we rode with them a bit and got all of their ride maps. The other group has been staying at a Holiday Inn in Porterville and they have been sectioning off an outdoor area for them in the parking lot. That is just not our style of course. So, the problem is to find a place to hold our rally at around the Porterville / Springville area. There is a KOA in Visalia that might work in a pinch - but it would be better to find someplace closer to said area.
So that is where we stand. Yes, the WCR is planned to be at the same dates as usual: the weekend after Memorial Day. June 1st - June 3rd. Any help finding a place where we can have a fire and hang out and NOT have to bring tents and stuff would be greatly appreciated!
The ride sounds good - because I am fairly new I don't mind KOA's so I am ok with either. I haven't been on most of the roads mentioned except for the 198. If that is planned while it looks like a nice switchback road ( which it is ) it is the main road through the park and it will be busy and speed is only 35mph maybe 25 in spots... no doubt patrolled. It will be a very nice easy scenic type ride but not good for a "spirited" ride. BUT -- I would still recommend it, especially for thosethat have not visited the park -- the short hike to Moro Rock is a must .... as is a stop at any of the Sequoia forests ..Giant Forest with General Sherman tree. Some of us saw the drive thru tree in Legget ( Chandelier Tree ); this would take us to the King of all Trees.
I think a group ride through the park would be great -- a group photo on Moro rock would be awesome ( just gotta figure out how to get the FJ's up there as some of the turns on the stairway to the top are pretty tight). Make the loop to the 245 then head south and get the fun speed ride on the way back to camp.

Porterville works for me :good2: This makes the WCR much more accessable, rather than having to ride up to Southern Oregon. Whew!
Don't forget, we're stopping by Colorado on the way home..... Fr Paddy.
That's sweet it only 3 hr from my home count me in this year :good: :yahoo:
Looks like a good area for my first FJ Rally. It is an easy run in from Las Vegas for me. I should have no problem having the 1100 back on the road way before then. I am not a tent kind of guy. Ruffing it for me is no Pool & Spa at the Hotel. Is there anyone on the forum in Las Vegas that is active?

Porterville ? really ?
wherever we go there we are.
Bring it on.
Yeah, Porterville.
It's a big enough town to have everything you'd need.
It's only a base, there's Visalia and Tulare as well.
The mountain roads are really close, and excellent riding.
The weather is generally clear that time of year as well, unlike that "June Gloom" you get near to the coast.
Where would you suggest it be held?
Seriously, where would you like to go?
Quote from: Klavdy on December 08, 2011, 05:20:45 PM
Yeah, Porterville.
What's the pine cone density that time of year?
Dan
Porterville is so close to me, I could drive back home to get the ridding boots I forgot, before the second ride on the first day. Count me in!!!
I would like to see us ( SoCal ) boys cruise up together maybe on the Thursday -- for any SoCal people that are interested let me know -- its a short run but we can make a pretty good day of it -- "take the long way round"

As for my choice of a great rally location , research is ongoing.
Poterville, I see the 190 which looks like a very good rd. but I don't see many others. Are there enough options for two days of riding.
Mike
These ride maps are from the other sport touring group which I mentioned before. Hi-Resolution versions of these maps can be found in the Gallery (specifically in my Gallery in the Porterville folder). The 245 (on Route 1 & 4) from Woodlake to Badger is the single best tight corner motorcycle road I have EVER ridden. Beautiful uphill climb - banked perfect side-stand dragging corners - and brand new coarse grippy pavement. I've ridden a fair bit of roads - so I don't make that statement lightly - and to top it off - I road it in the rain - and STILL have that high opinion of it!

Wow Mike!!! You gonna be OK after that spanking? :empathy3:
Here is a crappy, low resolution video of Hwy 245. These guys are starting off at the bar at the intersection of the 245 and Dry Creek Dr in Badger and riding south towards Woodlake. They are riding it downhill instead of uphill - and they are not very good at staying in their own lane. However - you get a decent sense of the road. It is beautifully laid out and a pleasure to ride. With little to no traffic.

OK I stand corrected and from the Marsh's post it looks like some very nice rides. Marsh there are none of your famous "goat tails" mixed in any of them? I like that is further south this year, I may just have to ride instead of trailing now that its only 4hrs away.

Mike, you'll like these routes mate.
Remember the 20 going up to Willits from that park?
The 245 is better, it's a real work out.
It's pretty hard to get over 60 mph on that road.
The 190 has a lot of high speed sweeper sections and the 155 is a low speed tight cornering racetrack.
I have some video of the 245 and other roads, I'll post them up soon.
edit maybe I wont have to, here's a vid from September 2011, looks good in Hi-Def.

So...when is the rally? I need to put in my vacation request before next week.
Randy - RPM
Oooh, ummm, not real sure just yet but I plan on being in the U.S from around the 20th May to the end of June.
June 1st - June 3rd seems to be the tentative dates though.
I want to come up to Oakdale and hang out for a couple days before the Rally, it's nice around there.
We've got the Colorado thing happening too, so guess we should get our stuff together.

My wife is looking forward to your visit, as long as you bring her a big diamond...

It's the weekend after the WCSR, gives us time to ride out there.

Hmmm, we might stay at another bloody KOA, it's a little north of Porterville in Tulare or Visalia.
Really good central location for the rides but.
Yea, where are we staying??? Inquiring minds want to know. Besides, if the accommodations don't rate, I'm travelling solo.
I REALLY recommend against Visalia. Perhaps Randy can offer some input on Tulare. Visalia is not exactly an ideal area. My $0.02
Mr Monkey, I can also find one in your size, although it may require some special Amsoil to get inserted!

Its almost March so we need to nail down a location Sooooon!

My Recommendation: Keep it simple. Why not stay at the Best Western in Porterville? A room with a shower and potty is not sooo bad along with free morning breakfast. A room with 2 queens, it's ~$85 a night. I recall in the past some of our KOA cabins were close to that cost.

I like that too, The KOA at Visalia looks real ghetto and in a suss area.
Fellers, we'll be needing someone to step up and get in touch with the hotels in Porterville, organise a deal.
Its a bit hard for me, what with the time differences between Australia and the U.S, not to mention accents, and I think Fluffy's out in the desert somewhere, shooting a new porno.
So, c'mon, step up.
I am on it.

The weekend before that the other motorcycle group stays there and uses them for home base. They are a sport touring MC group as well. They have an outside area roped off for them where everyone parks their bikes in and they eat out there on tables etc. Security patrols keep everything secure. Make sure you tell them we are the same as those guys and we will want the same ammenities and service - and to stay in that same east wing of the hotel where our bike/gathering area will be.
Yep, I spoke with Mini there at the Best Western (559) 781-7411.
She said the Memorial Day Sport Touring group uses over 35 rooms and they bring in their own tent and hire their own security guard.
We are small potatoes compared to that group, but never-the-less she will get us the same parking arrangements and book us into the east wing. She has a BBQ we can use if we wish to cook out.
She is checking on the prices..... I asked her to sharpen her pencil. :gamer:

You're a good man Paddy, book a room for me & my boy Fluffy please.
Twin double beds, there's a good chap.
No spooning!
Bet most of the listers don't know that you and I have slept in the same bed, eh?
We can do that as we are mature heterosexuals, comfortable with our own sexuality.
Hey, it was the last room in the inn and I was exhausted after driving all night in the rain to Tellico. What time did we get in, 4am or so?
All was fine you big galoot until the morning, when you put your giant squid paw on my ass. <shudder>
The only time I've gotten out of bed that fast was in jump school, at Ft.Benning, when the drill sergeant was screaming while kicking the trash can down the hall.
count me in Pat! single queen room... buckwheat pillow... and an extra strong coffee blend for the morning please :morning1:

I am glad we came around on the hotel approach too as camping in the central valley in June may not have been the best! I can see where the campfire has advantages but at least we will wake up rested and ready for all the twisties the day has to offer!
Please include me on the list! I will need a double room as I will have my buddy Roger in tow on his Aprilia Futura....
Cheers-

Guys, I have a strong feeling that this will work just like booking a cabin at a KOA. Meaning; Pat gets them to hold a block of rooms for us for a period of time (probably short in this case) and we call up and reserve them ourselves - give our credit card number - specify the number of beds, etc. I have a distinct feeling all of this "1 bed or 2 bed" or "put my name down for a room" stuff that is being posted here is totally irrelevant....just sayin'...

my health has gone to shit because I gave up cigarettes and mtn dew :rofl2: I take a shitload of meds now and I am getting better, so the doctor says.

The potato cannon was back in action last year after the wiring was repaired for the spark generator . I will charge it up and make sure it is ready to go again.
My hvac students got a big kick out of it last year when I did a class on gas furnaces and flame propagation and used it for the display model . I let them shoot at each other and did a kinda three flys up game with it. It did get out of hand and there are now potato's growing all over sacramento. I was told not to bring it back again but I don't do what I am told . It is time to take it to class again so they can check it out.

you are such a cunny funt Klav  :rofl2: but will still leave u wondering where oh where did baldy go
I wont be wondering where you went mate, I'll know.
It'll go like this
"Yep, there's Baldy, shrinking in my rear view mirrors.Again."
We need to get you a bike, you missed out on Paddy's spare as Paul is coming.
Fluffy has "Teh Bat Bitch" but I dunno if it's registered.
Dunno if it would be a suitable mount to ride to Colorado either.
Hmmm, who else has a spare bike?
I'll vouch for Baldy, he's a good rider and a man of his word.
Hello folks,
It is looking very likely that me and my FJ will be making a west coast appearance in May and June. Work has finally given me the opportunity to get out there and experience what I have been reading about here for years. Here's the schedule as it appears now. I will be in Las Vegas from May 17th until the 26th, then need to be in Santa Clara, CA on Monday the 28th until June 1st. I can then spend 2 or more days in Porterville and need to be in San Diego on the 6th or 7th of June until the 16th. I will be working a show at each stop, but will have evenings free. So I am looking for route suggestions between cities, places to hang my hammock, and of course to meet any of you the would have the time. Even if it was just for a bite and a beer. I am really hoping the Tioga pass across Yosemite will be open early this year. If not, would a ride through Death Valley be a crazy idea?? Need to get crackin' on the bike repairs. Trucks are pulling out of Boston in 4 weeks!!
james
Running thru the pre rally check. :mail1:
new spark plugs
oil change
voltage regulator
fork oil
clutch fluid
brake fluid

chain cleaned and lubed
throttle cables lubed
light bulbs checked
And I still have 3 weeks before the west coast rally . I am ahead of the curve this year :good:
See Ya'll there .

:yahoo: :yahoo: Ok its official looks like there will be an Aussie assault on the WCR and Colarardo this yr with both The Kman and I doing this, look out boys your if for a shock :rofl2: of course it depends on wether they will let me into the country or not but where there's a way there's mean.
Question
WHO'S BRINGING THE DRUM???
oh and I need a room booked as well, I don't mind sharing but I definitly won't be spooning with the big K :sarcastic:
Lord Baldy
bugga bugga the assault has been reduced to 1 as Klavdy the big sheila :shok: has turned up his toes and pulled out, something about some minor operation he had earlier in the year where they took out about 30cm of his gut and not having recovered enough, was worried about doing a Mr Bean and only riding 100 k's and having to have several days off to recover :dash1:
so will just be me me hearty's a US rally virgin :rofl2:
Klavdy's out? Bummer....That's a shame, he will be missed.
I hope everyone realizes that he is damn lucky to be alive.... That was some serious shit he went through (or went through him)
I just crack myself up sometimes.....
Rest well amigo, heal up, do your core training exercises and come to visit when you are ready.... Your health comes first.

Woah, uhhh.. :wacko1: Worried about me only going 100 k's?? He was leading, and I was just following.. not my problem if the old fart can't make it very far. :blum1:
You'll have a grand time. Klavdy will be missed, but in the end him taking this year off is by far the best decision he could make.
Klavdy is just protesting that the WCR will not have event shirts this year... :empathy2:
Sorry to hear Klavdy won't be in attendance as I was looking forward to meeting the single most offensive person on the web.....
You must be feeling down about it too Klavdy- perhaps this will cheer you up. Not too offensive but definitely an Aussie spirit!
Cheers

I have been gone a couple of days and low & behold you guys find out what I have been doing...You guys have a GPS chip implanted or what...?
So, my house was built in the 30's back when they used two ft long clay pipe for the sewer line. Several years ago I replace the line from the house to the sidewalk due to tree root/clogging issues.
So, last month the wife calls and tells me the drain is not functioning, drain rooter guy shows up tells me about 55ft out, I have more root problems. This usually will last me a year before I have to clear the roots again...not this time.
I was at work on Friday night and get the call, the drain is plugged again, I get off work at 7:00am go home call the rooter guy, pay the higher weekend rate and same place..55ft.
So, the landscape guy had previously been scheduled to install new irrigation system around my house. I had previously killed everything off, so my house looks like it is in foreclosure...as several concerned neighbors have told me...
Since I have the trenching machine rented it's time to kill two projects with one machine...I spend all day yesterday digging under the sidewalk and out to the street to replace the clay piping. Fortunately for me when the city repaired the road 15-20 years ago the replaced the clay line under the street. So, 16'-3" of new ABS is now installed, but everything else has to be done before I can go to the rally...
So, I was up for 32 hours yesterday since I worked my graveyard shift Sunday night and have been at it since early this morning. I hope to be completed by this afternoon and back to the shop tomorrow.
I have a lot of work to do to get to the rally...
But we are looking forward to it.
Randy - RPM
congrats on your win mate, , make sure you have dead horse on ya dogs eye :good2:

Yep, years ago when I worked for a plumber he told me to remember 4 things when I start working for him.
1. You get paid on Friday, if you show up.
2. Shit always goes down hill, if it don't, you got a real problem.
3. Chew your finger nails at your own risk. If you miss payday I will assume you took the risk.
4. He is the boss, if I don't like it, find a new boss.

But if ya stretched for time, we could convene an extraordinary meeting of the Australian FJ Global Rally Committee, and table a proposal for tha prize to be intrayank transferable. (Knuckers need not apply)
But then again, if you`ve ever watched "State of Origin" ya know we never give up – until tha whistle blows. Ummmm... What`s tha cheapest seat? – (meanwhile I`ll see if we can get a chook raffle goin at strops pub) :mail1:

Buy one, they are only about CAD $1300 round trip from Vancouver to Brisbane.
You'll get a warm welcome, a bike to ride and a place to stay.
Australians and Canadians get on famously.
Always have.
They are known as Canadians or Canucks here, occasionally you might hear a "North American Kiwi" (North America being the continent north of the Columbia/Panama border)but that's pretty rare and generally reserved for the individual who's a bit of a dick.
Mr Bean & Marsh have both been to visit, we had fun.

Man.... I sure had a good time at that Blues Festival in 2007... Didn't stay long after that so I can't comment on it being overpriced... I don't think I have to worry about it though because it looks like my prize trip is all expenses paid! I will take the sea container out of Vancouver and arrive within 23 days!!! From there on a loaner bike that Pat has graciously offered to ship!
There! I think that goes a long ways toward fitting in with the rest of the inconsistencies above!! If I am lucky I will save enough money to buy some fresh leathers complete with "pooncey flower colours" :mocking:

As just one example of you being a fat, tired, slow old fart, remember that time you were riding down to Phillip Island and I rode with you to just past Ballina?

Klavdy, I'm really sorry you wont won't be making it. I was looking forward to having a drink with you as your always a joy to be around. Heal up mate!
I will likely not be riding my FJ. Last week was the barf rally and she nearly fell apart. First the exhaust canister blew off nearly killing the guy behind me. So you can imagine how loud it was then. A few hundred miles later the tab on the midpipe that bolts to the rearset sheared off so that fell off. Only the headers remained! Louder than a MotoGP bike I tell you.
Oil was leaking from the valve cover to the tune of over a quart, my left boot is nice and shiny though.
Lastly, the clutch banjo bolt at the slave was weeping. Maybe my new clutch caused this.
:dash1:
Haha!
Yeah, I saw a brief post over at BARF about you ruining your FJ,mate.
You still got the Tiger?
I'll probably be over later in the year, go for a ride up your way.

Spoke to Fluffy and Baldy last night, Fluffy picked our mate up from LAX and drove back to San Juan Cap,Baldy must have been tired, he'd flown from NYC on American Airlines and it was a long day, would have been good to have a stretch and relax,

Well that confirms it!!! I am gonna need to use all the Dunlop Q2 tires can give me in the corners to keep a safe distance from the Bald man. If he catches me it will be Randy's fault for dragging his ass on his rear shock. The front forks/valves are really nice now. Randy, any chance I can beta test a shock for you at the rally?

There is no chance of me dragging anything around here...it is totally on the manufacture and their delays.
See I told you they work great. Baldy will give his R-T forks a test then I am going to pull them, drop in the RPM valves and we will see which ones he wants to keep.
And, for as much as I would love to have a shock on a bike or two or three for the double rally, it doesn't look like it is going to happen. I sent a request the middle of last week hoping to hear back from them and I still have not.
Needless to say, I am a little frustrated by the extended time frame of the shock work.
Just think, only four more days...

Heya Hank,
You riding the Tiger this year?
Say Hi to my mates at Sisters Mountain House Bar& Grill, it's on the 245.
OK guys who lit the fire down there. At this tine 17:30 there are 4 Calfire tankers working out of there along with 2 fed birds. And no Stef is not down there she has Rohnerville for the summer.
If you have never seen it you should head out to the airport and watch the show 6 tankers doing quick turns should be quite a display
Kim
None of us. We (Ed, Deano & Val) stopped for lunch about 13:00 in Ponderosa. Fire was apparently active by the time we left, about 14:15. Deano spotted a Sikorsky with a water bucket in tow overhead. The balance of the FJers were well on the way to Lake Isabella.
The monkey made it home by 2:30 after a quick bite to eat with Mike and Steve at the bottom of the crest. Had a fantastic time, can't wait to do it again. Campfires are great when its cold out, but you can't beat the pool when it is hot. Good memories, I will post up pics and video sometime soon. :yahoo:

Rolled in about 1/2 hour after Mark. A little tired from the pool parties :drinks: :drinks: 865 mile week end for me and my front tire is done (Perrili spot demons work good but don't last). Very good WCR this year....wonder where we will be next year. Enjoyed everyones company, Baldy was a great Australian ambassador, he only offended a few people. Klavdy would be proud. And yes with a little peer pressure he did the trek to the top Morro Rock. Really glad we made that side trip... beautiful.
Appreciate Marsh's efforts organizing this event. Steve and Mark were great riding buddies again, Steve blazing trail and Mark hanging back with me. Jim sorry about your unplained dismount glad you are OK. Special hooray for Randy's help especially with getting Jim's bike back to the partry!

I want to take this opportunity to beat the drum, not James, the ATGATT drum, because he was wearing full gear when he dismounted off schedule. I was in front of him by seconds and nearly had the same experience with the same gravel. Why I did not meet the same fate will never be clear. After missing the gravel in the corner I heard a noise that we all cringe when we hear it. I looked in mirror and saw his bike down on the edge of a nasty drop into shrub and trees. James was up when I got turned around and was walking and I am guessing thinking of a million things at the same time when I checked on his condition. He was clearly pumped up on Adrenalin form the crash but not really hurt. He did suffer some bruising but nothing that would slow him down. His gear took the hit for him. I will let James fill in anything I missed. Very happy to see you make it through it so well James. Bikes are much easier to fix. Nuff said....
Tired... :boredom:

Go Randy and James, have a great time and bring back some good stories...
home from the rally , took the scenic route 41 to the 49 north to sacramento. just a extra bit of awesome on top of the rally.
It was great to see everyone again and to meet new people as well , Tim made a great new addition to the rally regulars with his perfected bottle opening skills.
I am glad James (earth bitter) is okay , his bike will heal as well as him. Rpm Randy was a trooper all the way and helped with everything .
No problems with the bike at the rally but..........on the way home my front turn signal broke free of the faring and waved at the wind at me. Craigs right hand cobra slip on tried to slip off on the 99 . all this 20 minutes after leaving the hotel.
so some duct tape for me and bailing wire for Craig so the broken mounting bracket would hold together for the trip home ....made it all the way with no more troubles.
goood times.
P.S. I know who the tank bag turner is , He rides a 86. not steve.

Paul and I are back from the WCR via Gunnison. What a great trip. Strong cross winds crossing Nevada. A nice 3342 mile tour.
Left Gunnison yesterday morning with a overnight stray in Mesquite Nv.and then back to Palm Desert.
Gunnison to Palm Desert mileage was 952.

lets do the math -- 3342 miles/100 = 33.4 stops for gas.... can't wait to see the photos --- the ones I have seen from Colorado already look great.
Let me know when you want the pipes.
Hey Steve, we will hook up later this month when I get down to Leucadia. I will give you a call.
In Tonopah Nv, I pulled the carbies and switched my pilot jets over to 40's (took out the 45's) and my mileage increased to ~32 mpg.
I ended up getting about 180 miles between fill ups leaving a healthy reserve (gotta love the 6.5 gallon tanks on the '84's)
After several days of riding, believe me, I was ready for a break at 180 miles.....
Now that I'm home at sea level in the hot desert, I will have to go richer with my pilots, so I have a set of 42.5's I will install....
Those 45's gulped the gas....
Great to see you in Porterville! Pat
Good to hear you all seem to have made a clean ride home, well done.
It would be nice to see some pics, even nicer to have been there for it.
The fun just keeps getting better with every year. Good to see all the West Coast FJ'ers again, and it was great to meet the new folks. We've got our Nor Cal rally in Napa this Fall, Andy will be hosting this one. We could probably recuit Randy, Henry and Tim.....the weather should be great. In fact, I think a trip to the Central Coast to visit Tim would be in order!!!! I'm sure Mark, Andy, Henry and Randy would oblige; would be a great ride. Who did I forget?
Sorry to miss the Aussie FJ'er mascot.....Klavdy, hope you are mending well! Enjoyed every minute of the Rally, see you all in Petaluma 2013.
By the way, just got word Andy is somewhere in the desert.... heading home from Colorado.
Andy sent a text saying "yup I recommend double rally dipping"!! I am a bit envious of the guys that went on to the CO rally..... For sure on the central coast- it would be a goooood time!

Looked like a great trip and it was kinda weird to see my old bike there without me-I hope you enjoyed the ride Baldy-sorry about the shock troubles.
So next years WCR is back in Petaluma?
Pet-the-Tuna...That's my vote. I'm jones'en for the sweepers on the Lake Sonoma roller coaster...

Yes, some of us had a discussion about it around the pool one night. That seemed to be the concensus. It has been 3 years that we have been away - it will be good to revisit. Plus it is clean and they have a nice pool! :good:

What are the tentitive dates for this Rally?
I would like to attend and there is no better time to start plannng than right now.
I know Alan from Denver would be interested as well.
This would make the 3rd different Rally in the 3 times at attending a Rally!

Oh, I am most definately IN!
Petaluma sounds Great! Someone told me about "Skaggs Spring Road" or something like that in that area...............Erich V. are you listening?????You need help putting the Mistress back together?
Is it wierd that i am already planning my route to Petaluma????? I can't believe I have to wait a whole Year!!!! :dash2:
There is currently a new Pilot Road II being installed on my back wheel...........and I found a new Kerker slip-on on ebay, so just waiting for that to arrive, and then I have to do my best to wear out the Pilot Road II by next May, so I can get 2 new tires on for the Rally.(more than likely not a problem......I am planning on taking the FJ to Austin this November for the F1 race)
Has Andy made it home to Napa yet? Anybody hear from him?

I didn't like the way the new owners messed up the camp ground. IIRC we were supposed to be in that back corner without anyone around us yet they had expanded to that field just on the other side of the fence. Didn't someone for over there come and complain to Marsh but was made happy by giving all the firewood we didn't
burn..??
Petaluma is fine with me. As Pat said the sweepers around Lake Sonoma are excellent.
