Title: doormen
Post by: theLeopard on March 06, 2016, 03:17:29 PM
had another run-in with the doormat at the local pub here.
:negative:

it never ceases to amaze me how superficial people can be when making snap judgements.
what i find more astonishing is how wrong, and convinced, they are in their own arrogance.

Do you mean the superficial arrogant game? Just checking. I don't want to make any snap judgements.

Brian, first off I am not hating on anyone, but you have to admit your initial post was vague at best.

We are all glad to talk about almost anything here but your post just does not make any sense to anyone here. It lacks any context. Do you have something you want to talk about or are you just coming onto the forum to make random unintelligible statements like you did above?

Then you take two senior members here who have helped thousands including you (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=13714.msg138175#msg138175 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=13714.msg138175#msg138175)) and call them haters.

By your own admission you have not acted appropriately with some of your previous posts. By the way the original post of this topic reads again, I am not sure you followed your own statement below.

I think you need to cut down on the drinking.

Or at least don't ask questions when drinking.
Yo. I dont drink often but i overindulge. Sorry about that  :drinks:

Many, if not most of the members here want to help, but shit like this is just stupid unless you just want to vent. If that is what you are doing at least make an intelligible rant not just three sentences that have no meaning to anyone but you.

If you keep this up the forum probation (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=13707.msg138108#msg138108 (http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=13707.msg138108#msg138108)) might have to be looked into by the people in charge.

Have you ever heard the saying: Don't bite the hand the helps you?

Keep the FJowners forum FJ. Or use the other sections if you have a relevant topic. Rants are generally ignored or at worst ranted back. I have had the opportunity to meet you and traveled to help you out when you were out of commission. I picked you up at the hospital with your crushed finger. These are good people that want to focus on the FJ and relevant topics. I want the people that I help to embrace the "Pay it forward" concept. I don't want payment other than you paying it forward to others. Pass on the good deeds. I was 16 when a tow-truck driver pulled me off the freeway for free, 18 when a scary looking guy on a Harley helped me, again when I was 20 and a bearded rough looking guy called Wizard in a HD shop in Ventura lent me his tools and a choice of tires to get me home. I may be an old guy, but I learned that choosing my words is important, make them bitter or sweet, you may have to eat them...

"Have you ever heard the saying: Don't bite the hand the helps you?"  Not the place to do an incoherent rant.

It took me 6 years and 3000 posts to get the message, you can't fight the status quo. I've mostly given up offering mechanical advice online, it just becomes fodder for the knockers.

Don't stop offering mechanical advice Noel. The older I get the more I agree with you. Its the youngsters who didn't grow up working on all things mechanical who are clueless.  Dave

Speaking of that, I find it fascinating that so many foreigners have such great interest and strong opinions about our political process.  Some even go so far as to think that should hold sway over the result.

This has baffled me for years also. The UK has the Guardian newspaper dedicated to US politics. I can't even tell you who the PM's  of the UK and OZ are or 99.9% of other US citizens.   Dave

No doubt, the world seems fascinated.

Count how many articles are on the front page of the BBC news: http://www.bbc.com/news (http://www.bbc.com/news)

Interesting times.

The US is the largest economy in the world and arguably the only "super power" left. What happens in the US impacts the rest of the world. As far as Canada goes, the US is our largest trading partner so we are very interested in US politics and policies as they almost certainly directly affects us. I think that's really what it boils down to.

Now here's a man i can relate with.
There are few that I've seen thus far, and those of you who are already know.

Randy, I'm honored and humbled you dignified my offtopic post with a response.
As such, despite the generous parameters of the "General Discussion" forum, I will bide my tongue contently relaxed in my leopard tree.

The rest of you apes can shove it  :drinks:

It doesn't seem to get anywhere.

I have an answer for you all.
Why don't you get out our your FJ's for a while and report back on the ride.

This my friends is the only thing we have in common.

Be Good.

Yes America is Canada's largest trading partner.  But conversely, Canada is also Americas largest trading partner.  We are joined at the hip for better or worse.  Kinda like The Honeymooners.

Yes we get a cold when America sneezes, but then we just slide down one of those polar vortexes and giggle.  :mocking:
