Choke Cables in the US?

My choke cable finally seized completely so I've been starting my bike by pulling the right fairing back a little and pushing the choke rod with a Phillips head screwdriver until it idles  :ireful:

That being said, I finally have some extra cash in my pocket and I'm ready to fix it. Problem is, every choke cable I see for sale on the net is either the wrong one (not handle mounted) or its in Europe. I'd rather not pay the added expense of international shipping if I can just find one in the states. I checked RPM and he has the push style ... ugh.

Would it be worth my time to convert to the 86+ push style or stick it out (and maybe with your help) find the correct one? I did come across one http://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/500425a5f8700209bc7882b1/handlebar-cable listed #13 ... says starter cable and in the right location. I just don't want to buy something and it be wrong.

Thanks!

I just made a call and I have two of those on order for the future. The Yamaha list price is $20.28 and I can sell it for $17.92. I checked that link and while the product is cheaper on their site the shipping, to me at least, is almost double the cost of the cable.

My shipping should be $7.00 - 8.00 for US customers, but I will not know until I get it in hand and added to the inventory.

When do you expect to have the two in stock? I'd much rather deal through you, seeing as you're the trusted parts authority around here. I want to get this fixed ASAP considering the temps are sure to start dropping in the early morning here in the next month or so. The screwdriver thing is getting old!

It all depends on which Yamaha warehouse has them in stock. If they are in the west coast location, they might make my shipment for tomorrow. All of my Yamaha orders ship every Friday so there could be a chance I see it next week, if not it should be the week following.

Whether its next week or the week after, I don't mind. Is there a way to pre-order? I'd like to get the money allocated before I get an itch  :drinks: haha

If not, if you aren't too busy or caught up, shoot me an email when they arrive (it's listed in my profile). I could always just check back and remind you. I understand businesses can be consuming!

Thanks again Randy, I'm looking forward to doing some more dealing in the near future!

I really have no way to pre-order, but you can purchase a RPM Gift Certificate for the amount and then use it for the cable when it arrives.

I will also email you when it arrives so you know it is in stock.

Forgot about that ... I'll just have to wait until you get them in. It'll be like Christmas!
