Can someone enlighten me to how the air scoops are attached to fairing.
I have the scoops and black air funnels but no hardware to connect the scoops to fairing.
Are the scoops to be removed easily?
I haven't installed new fairing yet so I'm not sure how close the black funnels get to cylinder Head for maintenance purposes.

What year is your bike ?
Also go this site, might help. Go to the year and model, should be under cowling diagram.

If they're similar to my 84, they just use a plastic rivet similar to these: http://www.retainerfinder.com/gm-21030249/
If you have a junkyard nearby, many GM W body cars (Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Olds Cutlass) around 2000-2005 use 5 of these rivets across the top of the rear bumper cover. Just pop the trunk lid and pull them out.

On my 86' there is a tab that hooks into the fairing towards the front, a plastic rivet and a machine screw with a flanged washer/standoff under the lower fairing protector. The inner scoop sits close to the top of the head. The year of fairing matters.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

My bike is an 85 but I bought the scoops off of a forum member.
Thanks a bunch for the help.
Im sure I will find some scrivets at work.,

the scoops attach to the "funnels" with screw, and then there should be holes for plastic pop rivets.

#29 and #32 are machine screws, with #30 and #31 collars to go with them.  #39 is a plastic reusable 'rivet'.
