I have created this new poll so I can find out what you guys want. Based on the current requests via the website for the RPM LED tail light I have revisited the product. When I contacted the company they also informed me they were now making a clear only FJ1200 tail light.

This light looks just like the factory light but they currently do not offer it with the integrated turn signals or a smoke lens, but they will make it for me.

I need to know what you guys think about the tail light shape and select a style. Based on the results of the poll is which light I will be ordering.

No, I will not offer both. I have to make a minimum of 25 of the units chosen and I cannot afford to do both.

Yamaha OE style

You can see some other angles here; LED Smoke Brake Light with Integrated Turn Signal Function

Vote via the poll so I can get some RPM LED tail lights made and on the shelf for you.

FWIW, I didn't care for the shape of the current one, and that's why it's not on my wish list.

Yes, I agree. The OEM one is very nice looking, I like the flush contours of it.
It would look GREAT in smoke and with integrated turn signals!

Randy, you've talked me into wanting one of these, even though we do need external flashers in this country.
It is now on my wish list as well.

Hope that it works out and these come into production. It would make another great item from RPM.

Well Randy, (RPM), you remember what I did with mine and for what reasons don't you?
I would be interested in a smoked and integrated Yamaha OE style tail light.

Yes, the plan is to have the integral turn signals in the light. The O.E. light will look like the upper light listed in the post but with the smoke lens instead of clear.

The red light in Leon's post is the stock light he modified using his stock red lens and added it to the LED light. Mine will not be red.

I've got your smoked integrated tail light on my 86. But if you get the oe one smoked and integrated. I'll buy one and sell the one I have. And if I ever get a titled frame to put the 87 drive train into I'll buy a second oe one.

I vote for the OEM style LED clear tail light. I already have the exact same tail light.

That is the one O.E. version, but I am going to have it with a smoke lens and integrate turn signals.

That is unless everyone one likes the one I already stock better...

Fred,
Where did you get that taillight?
I would like to have an LED taillight, but don't want integrated turn signals or a smoke lens.  I like to have maximum visibility from the rear lighting.

I got mine from eBay Germany. The light I have is exactly like the new light that Randy is purposing to stock. Wait for a little while longer and see how the polling for this light goes. I am sure if Randy decides to offer the light, it will be much less expensive.

I paid $87.71

What is the extent of the "slight modification must be completed to tail"?

You have to open up the corners of the tail section as the light is more square compared to the stock light.

A rat-tail file or dremel tool work great. There is no damage to the tail if you decided to change back to the stock light as the modification is underneath and cannot be seen whichever light you have installed.
