The latest Cycle World has an article about the new retro CB.  They comepare its engine nostalgically to the FJ, in a good way.  Thouh the new CB doesn't quite measure up in power, it appears to have a similar personality.

It is a 1300 (1283cc) and is even red/white...  nicely modernized FJ I think.  Looks pretty good, but is it really for sale yet?!

 Frank,
Think you're talking about a different bike.  This one is 1140cc and for sale now in ruby red and I think black.

more of a spiritual successor to the FJ than an FJR is I think.  I like it!

Nice looking bike. Reminds me of the mid 80's GS750ES. One of my old time favs!!!

HARTLESS

that is actually pretty sweet! I like how it actually goes in a different style direction than every other new bike (because they all look the same now!). curious to here how she performs.

I ride HARTLESS or don't ride at all!

This Honda looks Ok, but what makes it better than Yamaha's XJR1300, or Suzuki's Bandit, or 1400, or even the Aprilia Tuono V4 ?

Undoubtedly the MUCH HIGHER price tag.  Honda seems to think their name on something makes it worth more.

Judging by the incredible number of new VFRs that I DON'T see on the roads, I think their logic may be slightly flawed.

I've been looking at these on ebay and the bike trading sites for several months now.  They look good with a belly pan.

What's wrong with a Honda? I've always found them to be #1 in fit & finish, quality of fastening hardware, etc.

Yamaha slightly leads the Kawasaki, with Suzuki being last.

This doesn't necessarily reflect performance. Just my observations of uncrating & assembling a couple hundred examples of Japanese bikes & quads. Honda had the best crates & packaging, with their bikes damn near assembling themselves. Everything fit perfectly. Suzuki was the worst & would often require a bit of prying to align parts, or threaded holes would need to have a tap run through them. Some Suzuki bolts would even snap before reaching the recommended torque rating.  :dash2:

Because usually they just don't look complete, like they've finished some models, then tack something else on that looks out of place

That front end would look good on an FJ.  Nice big brakes, 43mm cartridge forks, rebound, compression....Fender isn't ugly.  Who will be the first?
