Went for a ride Monday night, five bikes. Nice spirited pace on some twisty back roads, also includeda long stretch of bumpy gravel road construction. Two of us went to a local pub for a bite after.

Leaving the pub, just before dusk, I'm leading.  First corner at maybe 75kmh the back end steps WAY out. First thought was someone greased my tire in the parking lot... Or was there something on the road????

Pulled over when I could to find this!

Moral of the story?  CHECK THOSE BOLTS!

Might as well put a fresh o ring on the fitting, heck do both fittings.

That is just plain scary :bomb:. That was a trip to the hospital for you and a trip to the wreckers for your bike. Glad all the bike did was get a bit slideways on you.

WOW Derek!  Very glad to hear you made it out of that one my friend!   :drinks:  I think we all know how that *could* have turned out.

I would firmly place blame on that goat trail for loosening the bolts!

Derek, these blokes have all missed the the important issue here. You puked oil all over you rear tire, you slipped and slid as a result and lived to tell about it. All good and interesting, but what fucking tire are you running that kept you from going tits up with all that oil on it????

Yes, it was interesting, almost a repeat of last year's crash on my first ride after getting home from the rally.  Wish I took a pic of Tony's face.  He was more freaked out than I was, had oil all over his bike too. I robbed a bolt from a body panel to get me home. Still leaks a bit so it will get new o rings for sure Pat.

I think you're right Ron, Marsh's goat trail is to blame! :sarcastic:

You're right Fred, diablo. Pretty decent tire. Good "wet" traction apparently.

Thanks for reading and the comment fellas. But please do take some time and check all the bolts on your bikes. Doesn't take long and can really save alot of trouble on the road.
