exhaust upgrade questions from a newbie

I just bought an 86 1200 and I am already thinking about upgrades.  Not because I think it needs more power, I just like to upgrade and customize my machines.  I have been looking around the forum and saw a post about a 4 into 1 exhaust system, but it said that they don't make them any more.  Does anyone know a good place to find a nice 4 into 1 system that fits the fj?  I currently have a stock header going into a pair of F1 slip-ons. My plan for this winter was to upgrade to a 4 into 1, K&N individual filters, and a stage 3 carb kit.  So I guess I have 2 questions, where can I find a 4 into 1 system, and have any of you guys done the full exhaust, intake, and carb upgrade?  I am sure it's been done.  How much of an increase in power did it produce?? Do you guys who have done it think it was worth the 1000$+? And while I am asking so many questions at once, coke or pepsi?

OK, you may have to do some digging to get a new 4 into 1 exhaust, but there are some still available.  Things to consider include if it blocks the oil drain plug and if you'll have to remove the centerstand.
You will be better off with UNI DualPods and not K&N filters.  The UNI will filter better, flow better, and stay in place.  Randy at rpmracing sells them.
Instead of getting a "stage 3" jet kit, ask for suggested starting point for jetting here after you've settled on exhaust and filters.  Then you'll have to make the required minor changes that your bike will require.  This will be both cheaper and better than an off-the-shelf kit.

Randy @ RPM has developed a New 4-1 Exhaust System. Should be ready for sale very  soon.  :drinks:. As for performance gain. I can not personally say. I have never ridden an FJ with a stock exhaust system. I can say that the 20+ pounds of weight that is generally reduced will make a big difference.

According to this Japanese site there is still a new complete 4-1 system available.http://japan.webike.net/ps/#!p.m=933&p.c=1001&p.sk=1

Rather expensive, but i would recommend you to wait for Randy's products to be re lased for sale.
Whant to check out my photos on the bike??

Avoid the V&H exhausts.  There were three that I know about and none are really very good for street use.  The SS2R system will rust to pieces, the SS system will rust to pieces, and the other was a sidewinder type that won't let you turn right.

Wait for Randy's before buying one.
