Hi All. I will be getting a pair of FJ1200's within the next couple of weeks in pretty rough condition that used to be my brothers. One was his spares bike and the other has not been used for a few years so hoping to make one out of the two.

Cheers people!  :drinks:  Not sure on the ages but I rode one of them 15+ years ago when he was dispatch riding. I will know more tomorrow when I unearth them from the pile of old Honda's, MZ's and scrap metal they are hiding beneath! Taking my camera so I will post some photos for you to laugh/cry at.

Quite a sad day digging through this lot, hard to believe there are a pair of FJ1200's under the first photo and even harder to believe that they both turn over. The incomplete one is 87/88 E registered with matching 1TX engine and frame numbers and the more complete is 86/87 D registered again with matching 1WH numbers and the clocks show 94k miles. Had to free the front brakes off one and the rear of the other but they both rolled out yawning! The incomplete 1TX has a tax disc showing 1994 so may have been laying around nearly 20 years and turned over once in gear but the other doesn't seem so happy, the gearchanges on both are smooth and snick into neutral easily which made me smile!

Here's a couple of photos, seems to be a mish mash of panels and I nearly gave up and died of borebom over posting with Photobucket.  :dash1:

What a Gold mine you have for FJ lovers... The abuse cannot be excused but some redemption can be made with effort and restoration...

:wacko3: WOW...FJ dirty porn eh!!! :rofl2: ...

You have your work cut out..but...it certainly is achievable to get at least one good up-and-running FJ out of what you have there :good2:

John.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

A bit of polish, she'll be right.  :good2:

I'm currently waiting for an available date to borrow a van so I can collect the remaining complete bikes and the larger Honda parts. I have most of the smaller suff home and the NOS Honda spares, CB72 l/h air filters or brake shoes anyone?  :sorry:  Didn't find much more FJ stuff other than some more broken plastics, once they are home I will give them both a pressure wash and try a battery.  :good2:

Hi Wallace,
Last summer we picked up an '86 (61Kkms) as a project for $500.  Worst part was fairing parts we pretty broken.  Turned over but did not run.  Tank was really rusty and carbs clogged up.  Rebuilt carbs and runs fine.  This one also has F4i rear shock, anti-dive block off plates, and, unipods.

It is "wrapped" in flat black with carbon fibre wrap accents (ie on scoops)

This is the result:

Have fun with it!

Jeff
